so I started work on the tranny tunnel .

It MUST be removable , because of the frame design . If ever I need to remove the tranny , it will have to come out from the top .

so .

here is the cab tunel frame .

slooooooww .... and , thank you for asking ! :)

Cab is back off , and set aside for now .. I really wanted to get going on the suspension .. It's been a real PAIN ..

Originally I was going to use the original coil overs (as pictured in a previous post) .. new springs were added a while back , so it's all good stuff , adjustable , I love it ..

set up the frame to "ride height" , did some measuring , and bascially found the top of the strut would be sticking out of the top of the box .. not what I want .

So I started looking around , and thought about "bagging it" .. checked out a few places like http://www.ridetech.com/productinfo/rideproe.asp and http://www.easystreetair.com/ ...

I really did some research , and was ready to buy , but wasnt really happy with the final result it would have neted .. so why go forward with that ?

SO ...

A new plan has emerged ... and i'm working on it right now ..

Can you say " CANTELEVER" ?

yep .. gonna lay the struts down , front and rear , just like the F1 cars .. well maybe a little different :) .. hopefully , couple issues , have arived , but thats where i'm at .

yeah .. I have .. and thanks for the suggestions .....

thing is .. I really wanted to stay "true" to toyota , and have all factory replacement parts .. instead of having all of these miss-matched parts

this is why I was so perplexed in the "air ride" suspension .. Thing is .. now once I get all of it "layed down " , replacement should be very simple .

cuz it will be for sale .. one day .

ok .. so heres my plans . dont do the photoshop thing so bare with me .
it's a 2 lever system .

sm_photo_missing.jpg

basically , I want to "lay down" the rear struts . like this ..

sm_photo_missing.jpg

so right now i'm in the midst of making 8 bracket mounts ...
sm_photo_missing.jpg

so I can get everything "tacked" into place .. so I can measure for the leavers . I now have the links made , that fit the original lower strut mounts .

sm_photo_missing.jpg

and they fit like so ......

sm_photo_missing.jpg

also have the side supports
sm_photo_missing.jpg

and FINALLY got the bushings figured ..
