aghh! car wouldnt start this morning. i sure am lucky jose is nice. i think we may have found the culprit (i'm waiting for him to call back after looking at a picture). a wire in the harness near the ecu is completely broken, and looks to be a power wire, plus the CEL doesn't come on wwhen the key is turned on.

man oh man. hit speed limiter while running from a gto and evo 8. 180k on sawblades does NOT feel like a good idea. definitely not hitting that for a wwhile, and not until im gripping better.

next things to do with the car are just cleanup / driveability things. thinking to replaced some of the fubar interior stuff (switches, armrest, etc), and maybe paint my chalky ass bumpers. oh and tires for those baller SSR wheels sitting in my garage. jose said he really likes falken rt-615s, which is what i am thinking of getting. discuss!

today's news is, i discovered that the shop that finished my swap installed my rear sway bar upside down and thats what has been making my suspension squeak so much (its hitting shit in there). also i think they forgot to put in a power steering cooler because i sure dont see one anywhere, and i'm pretty sure they didnt plug in the abs speed sensor on the transmission because my abs light has been on since i got the car back... :3d_frown:

and my supra smells, looks like complete ass, and makes ugly sounding noises you would expect from a beat old pickup truck like clanks and bumps and clunks and squeaks

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:3d_frown: :3d_frown: :3d_frown: :3d_frown: :3d_frown: :3d_frown: :3d_frown: :3d_frown: :3d_frown:

the wheels aren't on yet.

update:

after going back and forth on keeping the mk3, or buying something else ('87 bmw 635CSi, '95 240sx, '86 AE86, '07 ducati 999), I think I'm going to stick with the mk3.

Things that need to be fixed (that i can think of now)
squeaking interior panels when going over bumps with top off
rear end squeaking on suspension compression (i think due to rear sway being installed upside down by the shop - havent had time to go make them fix it)
brakes are somewhat weak
paint chipped and scratched, and bumpers look like ass
various dents on body
leather cracking / dry / faded
stereo blown (stock speakers = trash now)
no head unit
a/c needs recharging
carpets need repair / cleaning (driver's side mat is dead, everything else just dirty)
new tires and the SSR wheels installed
various plastic bits on the interior are broken (seatbelt guides for one)

if i repaint, how much do you guys think i would have to spend (rough estimates are welcomed, im in socal if anyone knows specific places) on a paint job to get the color changed and not have it look like i changed the color (no craptastic paint lines anywhere, no trace of the original color left except behind interior panels and carpet or whatever)

I have a set of aftermarket Pioneer speakers (70W RMS) that I will let go for dirt cheap. :) They aren't blown, I just pulled them out to do my Bose conversion.

And you can get floormats on eBay for cheap. I think they even have the stitched "Supra" logo on them.

You can put pieces of adhesive-backed velcro in between the interior pieces that are squeaking. (I think the factory even did this)

Get your seats re-covered with super-vinyl, like I have.
