-my compressor wheel is chipped rebuild/replace/upgrade
-i'm leaking exhaust like mad off the back end of the manifold probably a stripped stud hole. helicoil and replace stud
-the car overheats badly when idling replace the headgasket
-i have rod knock rebuild the engine
-i dont get 6psi boost unless im going at least 80mph well, you're not going to make much boost when you have a massive pre-turbo exhaust leak, because it's acting as a wastegate, and you definitely shouldn't be trying to boost when you're overheating and have rodknock either....

the solution? i'm going 1j. end of story. oh absolutely. 1JZ: the cure to everyone's problems.

argh.

Accually when you think about it, He is making the right decision with the 1jz.

Call me biased but hear me out.

Whats the title of this thread called?
It says drift.

The 1jz inherentally has amazing response and has a better oiling system than a Stock 7M-GTE does. When the oil is sloshing around or being held at odd angles for prolonged periods of time, it makes sense to get somthing with a god oiling system.

Anywho, he also calculated to have Driftmotion build him a really nice 7M. They quoted him the same to have one of their awesome swaps done.

But while all this is true and correct, the 7M is a torque monster which is what you need for drifting...and you said Driftmotion could build up a nice 7M for the same price as swapping in a stock 1JZ... Just my .02 and not meant to start an argument or anything...

its not that it would be hard to fix those problems, its that they are pretty likely to just come back again.

kyle - no. there are no decent hachis for a decent price, so i'm looking at other stuff (for everyone else, i was talking about some sort of beater / backup / parts hauler for while the mk3 isnt running)
