tire blew off the bead on the last run though....FTL

Thanks again to everyone that helped me out with a jack and stuff.

I just ended up going home and stealing my moms camry spare haha.

The tire has some sidewall bubbles and stuff and the valve stem got cut somehow. Anyways, I am going to try to get a new tire today so I can drive it over the weekend.

Here is a video of blowing the tire....

Here are some pics I took of my own car last night at another forums meet.

I have reallllly been neglecting my Project page here, I have been having too much fun driving the car!
Much faster than expected, I believe it should run about mid 12's or so in the 1/4.

I still have a wheel hop problem pretty bad, but I am working on a solution.
I have not had too much competition out on the streets so far... I have had one person beat me out of many races.... not that I would ever do that on the street

Here are a few pics of the exhaust, and then some pics from a few car meets!

So far this car has been the ultimate sleeper, I love the fact that i left the trailer hitch on it, and it just looks like some old slow beater. I have definently suprised a few people.
It still needs to be a little bit faster... its time to turn up the boost a little bit.
I reallllly need to do something about the brakes, the handling is good enough for me, but brakes... oh man.

The pinion angle is non adjustable.... the new axle is installed the same as the old one though.

I believe all my bushings in the 4 link setup are causing my problem, they are rubber and they are factory origionals. Which I guess changes the pinion angle when its under heave throttle, but I havent gotten around to finding poly bushings though....

Updates:

Fixed the axle hop by using poly bushings

Took it to the track and ran 12.9 @ 110mph... on 195/70/r14 crap rubber :)
Should run an easy mid/low 12 with more traction

Gets 30mpg on the highway

Broke the r154, turns out to be a broken bolt holding the shift for to the rail.

Going to paint the car soon I hope, white or black... or stock color

Going to go Lex/550's/Safc/wideband for some basic power.

I am going to keep the stock HG for now with ARP studs, but I am going to up the boost some and just use the HG as my weak point as I experiment with tuning.... I would rather blow a HG than crack a piston or worse. HG is easy to change so thats what my route will be for now

Update:

ordered some "smiley" fiberglass bumpers for her.

should save about 80lbs or so, and it will look much better.

Wow that is awesome. I like how you did the mounts. I am planning on buying the BIC mounts for my 1JZ to make it work like that.

Overall awesomeness. I cant believe you are running the stock T rear. Holy crap man.

I almost bought a 77 Liftback once. It was rust orange and ran perfect. They didnt want to sell though

I am not running the T rear, I thought about it... but I ended up putting a rear end from a 1968 440 Dodge Dart. Should be plenty strong. If you look in some of the pics you can see that the rear is now 5 lug.

Wow after looking through all of the pages again i am digging this car so much more. You are lucky that the trans and most of the things fit in there. Im going to def need a tunnel. I am also doing the same basic thing with the rear end except im using a Toyota truck G code 8.0 rear end with a Supra LSD. I have tons of questions for you.
