On the dyno I gained no power with the ignition on or off with my mods. Checking for increase in spark it was VERY noticeably stronger with the HKS unit but there was no extra power to be had. There are many choices here since its pretty much all universal. All of them except the HKS system require a tach adapter and a extra high performance coil.
lol sry, I wasn't meaning it in that way, its just when you put the hypens it reminded me of a dictonary..didnt mean to stir sh*t up.supramacist said:I can tell I don't need an msd ignition because non of that is priced so I can't afford it.
Don't start with me 87 we have both been coming here forever and never had a scrape yet...., let's not start now. Alright..., and be careful not to shoot your eye out.
Someone settle this. Does msd wires and plugs make any difference on an na..., or is it the being done all the way around or in correlation to another application or modification. I can definitley not spend 100$ on msd wires.
But I think all of that and the air intake all pull together to make the auto run more smooth, so I will probably do it and if there is no gain I'll feel fine about it every time I am under the hood knowing I put something better than average under there.

I'd hate to break or, worse, wreck such a beautiful work of mechanical art. Back on subject, though.
An MSD box is a very useful piece of equipment, if you have the right one. You can set the rev limiter, adjust ignition and timing curves, and more. Here's a few you might like:

I hate to even find out what aa starter box costs. That's something I will come back to after I get the auto built and or started.
