^ Agreed about the decline in popularity, but only to those who don't own a Supra...
I still say if you can drive down the street and see 1, 2, maybe more of the same type of car, then there isn't a need to get together and hang out with fellow owners. What the heck could possibly be cool about going and hanging out with Evo owners who bought the car just to have it because it was "in"?
"cars on the decline" - What's the problem with that? I enjoy hearing about someone's resto/upgrades just as much as the next guy I'll even pull ideas from them. Hell, if I pointed out all the crapp wrong on my 82 you'd agree it was on the DEcline. Will that stop me from attending? No. I'm still waiting for the day I take a ride out to Vegas with my old rust bucket mkII, hit the tracks, and completely (and not only appear to do so) DESTROY a mkIV that is making all the comotion in the staging lanes.
I dunno. I'll just host a crappy meet down here in southern IN and see how it goes. I think if we could all just get out of the "omfg" state of mind (omfg he has a mkIV I can't talk to him/he wont talk to me) it would be a lot more enjoyable and that would help get people to come back. Because let's be honest, not many Supra owners would attend meets that they are either the only car there from that generation (or DAMN close to it) because it's stupid. I can't talk mods with mkIII or MKIV owners, unless they're NA and if they're NA they aren't there. Why the hell do people think they need to impress everyone when they go to a meet? Sure I can ask that because, well, my car is nice, but seriously. Look at it from an outsiders POV. My car = OLD My car ≠ Turbo So to most, it's uninteresting and not exciting.
I dunno. I'm still pissed about my final today so I'll STFU :icon_bigg
I still say it's the shitty ass mid-west.
