went to order new shifter bushings from merlin crawler, untill i saw the shipping was $20!!!!:aigo: for two bushings that could be put in a envelope?:nono: Was curious if everyone else that ordered these bushings paid this much for shipping. If there is no option around the shipping charges would anyone want to go in on some and split shipping?

Just go to Toyota and get the bushings. Except for the seat, get the green truck bushing. It's pretty much just as good as the Marlin Crawler IMO and you can just pick it up from the dealership.

33505-35020 Green truck shifter bushing/shifter seat
33548-31010 lower shifter bushing/cup

No way. MC bushings are WAY better.

I didn't have that problem w/ shipping. Give them a call, I'm sure they'll be able to help you.

even if they ship it in a box, that is still rediculous...unless its 2-3 days shipping..but not for standard ground shipping 5-10 business days.

did you ask them why it was so much? if they say thats what they charge..then get the weight...dimensions...and call their shipper direct and get a price quote online..then email it to them.

they are pretty cool guys though..so i dont want to feel like they are making profit off of shipping, but never know these days with hard times.

Just because they charge twenty bucks for shipping doesn't mean that's what they pay. I've bought things off of ebay that I had to have, and the shipping would be ten dollars and be in a bulk rate two dollar envelope. When I bought my last turbo gasket, that's what it was. I had to pay fourteen dollars for shipping and it was the only seller I could find. It pissed me off so bad, that I called him and told him what a freaking scam it was. He lowered it to ten dollars from fourteen, but still shipped it in a bulk rate envelope.

Driven both, the green truck bushing is crap compared to the marlin bushing.

Try em in a truck as well, then the difference is REALLY huge (as the shifter is nearly 3' long)

Driftmotion carries the marlin crawler bushings as well IIRC...

Ohh I didn't think about it in a truck. I bet it is a pretty big difference since they have such a long lever.

And yea a lot of people(mostly ebay) make some extra cash thru shipping costs.
IIRC it cost me ~$20 to ship a TB to Denmark.

You can ship a 1 pound box anywhere in the country for under $7 through UPS Ground. They would also fit in a USPS flat rate $5ish box.

Ebay sellers jack their shipping up, and count on your common sense to drop the sale price to make up for it. That saves them on their fees, because they don't charge fees on shipping. I tried that, and found that common sense is rare in this country in this day and age. People will only fuss about your high shipping. For MC to charge it is insane.

Yep, I have the MC bushings in my Supra and my Pickup. There was a noticeable difference in both after the install... (previously had the green truck bushing in the Supra).

MC FTW.

Don't talk to me like I'm stupid, Ryan. :nono: It's certainly noticeable. Besides the fact that I absolutely demolished a green truck bushing in 8 months of driving. It doesn't hold up to repeated abuse very well.

And no, I've never changed my oil and thought my car went faster, but if you really want to get into the specifics of it, running a lightweight oil (such as 5w30) will decrease drag in the crankcase over something heavy like 15w40/50 that some of the guys here run...
