Well,
Good luck with the engine refresh. While the engine is out, it'll give you an opportunity to look over the chassis wiring, since all of your aforementioned electrical issues are seperate from the engine harness. It sounds like a power short, and maybe the fusebox is the first place to inspect.

The engine is officially out of the car and dropped off with the builder! This is by far the biggest step in the project I've taken since buying the car 6 years ago. And it's the first time I've completely pulled an engine out of a car, so lots of new experiences.

The clutch is not in the best of conditions. I have no idea how this happened, but definitely explains why it was failing that badly.

Also, a lot of the hard line coolant passages looked rough. If anyone has any advice on how to modernize a lot of this stuff to get rid of the million vacuum hoses and coolant going everywhere, I would greatly appreciate it. I don't want to put anything that's had rust going through it back on the fresh engine.
