I read every page in a simple sit down session, simply stunning. This is the only thread that has ever made me contemplate sticking so many Gm products in my supra, and the 3jz is such a cool idea.

Im glad for you that everything is pretty much done, and i hope that the burning oil is just your PCV like you said, or it may need to be driven awhile after sitting for so long.

Sweet swap!

Thanks! This would be sweet engine in a Mk2.

While I agree in respects to the power of this engine (especially if you could get some 11.0:1 or higher compression pistons), I seriously doubt it would fit in a Mk2 happily. Even 1j's are a bit of a squeeze, and they are shorter than the 4200 am I correct? If so, you'd have to work out a way to get the radiator in front of the rad support I would think... The Mk2 has a bigger back seat area and smaller hatch/engine bay when compared with the Mk3. :(

That said, I love the idea. I love an n/a motor for lighter cars, they suit my driving style better...

Yep, I have a plan :)

There's tons of room once you pull of the intake tube. The engine isn't much wider than a 7M.

Right after I steal one for myself. There's a lowered white one w/black wheels running around here. Looks hot!

I'm still curious. If you have one, would you mind tossing up a picture with the intake Tubing pulled?

I could imagine. I've been in love with them since they first dropped. Also, dare I say it? Ecotec for the win. :)

Here's the turbo hole:

Well the 4200 was alledgedly based on the ecotec, so I may have to agree with you.

Yeah, the latter was the part I was getting at. I didn't know that the MK2 had a short bay (the 4200 is longer than the JZs), but I still think someone should make it happen.

Hmm, you know, I suspect I've been hearing a rod knocking in the 6m in my Mk2, the thing is slow as balls anyway (altitude does NOT like engines without top end power). Perhaps someday I'll toss one of these in, it does sound like a lot of fun, and I do imagine the Mk2 chassis would be a blast to drive with more grunt without the need to wait for turbos.

Patience while I get my scanner fired up ;)

I will say that it was significantly more than the stock Trailblazers put down.

250 HP. I feel pretty good about that since the stock trailblazers put down about 200-220 HP with an automatic transmission.
The red curve is with a stock trailblazer calibration with just enough codes turned off to let it run. Unfortunately, it didn't occur to me that the dyno would run the car into the 98 MPH speed limiter, so I didn't get a full baseline.
