What's the Blue smoke?

Yeah, I'm a little concerned about that :( I'm hoping it's because my PCV isn't hooked up right.

I'm guessing Stop signs mean something different in the US?? ;)

Just suggestions.

Ban low-performance drivers, not high-performance cars, says I!
Street signs are there for the former so they don't kill the rest of us.

Dude, that kid on that scooter totally took you out. :p

Good to see that it's running under it's own power though!

Thanks, all!

Exhaust is 3" straight through to a magneflow muffler. It is dead quiet at idle and instantly turns into a braaap with any throttle application whatsoever. I guess that's the exhaust cam phaser doing its thing. Not sure how long I can go like this without a ticket.

The transmission had to be pulled again. This entire time, I started with the assumption that my flywheel had the same dimensions as a colorado flywheel. In fact, it was offset by about 19mm from the coly version. This resulted in a lot of trial-and-error. I think I put the trans in 3-4 times and had 3 settings for the slave.

The hood latches! But just barely. To get this far, I removed the intake resonator, removed the MAP sensor mount, shaved my oil cap, trimmed the radiator, lowered the PCM, and removed a support from the hood. I still have up-dings :) You can't see the up-dings in the pics, but you can see that the passenger side of the hood doesn't close flush. At this point, it is hood sheet metal contacting the TB and the cam phaser cover. Not a lot more I can do without a load of custom work.

The video above was literally the second time I've driven it out of the drive way. The first time it fell on it's face trying to shift an automatic trans that wasn't there. This time, I tested the engine a little bit. The torque is impressive, but ultimately, I don't think I will be satisfied without forced induction. More later.

It sounds incredibly LOUD. Youre neighbors must love you. Haha This is one of my favorite builds. Awesome for doing something different that actually works well.

I've been staring at those last engine-bay pictures, and scratching my head as to where in the hell you'll be shoe-horning in the snail. Has any real plan been composed for this yet?

By the way. You wouldn't mind stealing for me that Sky that drives by in vid, would you? :)

he could always do what the GM f-body guys are doing and run a "dust buster" by the rear axle...

Yep, I have a plan :)

There's tons of room once you pull of the intake tube. The engine isn't much wider than a 7M.

Right after I steal one for myself. There's a lowered white one w/black wheels running around here. Looks hot!

Not necessary. One of the benefits of the (any) I6 is the ease of turbocharging.

I read every page in a simple sit down session, simply stunning. This is the only thread that has ever made me contemplate sticking so many Gm products in my supra, and the 3jz is such a cool idea.

Im glad for you that everything is pretty much done, and i hope that the burning oil is just your PCV like you said, or it may need to be driven awhile after sitting for so long.

Sweet swap!
