Eriol, were you out in town tonight? I was trying to look for some MKIII's but all we seemed to find were SRT4s, Hondas and some other random imports. Matt, didn't happen to see you out either. A bunch of us were up at SteaknShake on 31 n Stop 11 most of the night.

I got an email back from Modern Speed Labs! Here's what they had to say:

Marc @ MSL said:
Lee, our dyno facility is a Dynojet, and can go up to 1250hp...we are
planning on putting it in ground very soon, but can do any cars that are needed. Tim has had his car here at 1032hp.

We would love to host a dyno day for you boys....as i was once a supraholic, and had my ole baby make 945hp, before i parted her out.

here is what she looked like
p155918_1.jpg

Give me a call to set something up.

once again
thanks
Marc @ MSL

He is [was] one of us! I look forward to meeting these guys.

As for the MKIV's, I say let them tag along if they want... they usually don't interact with us MKIII guys anyway, so it's not like we'll notice they're there. ;)

what, you don't like a lighter crank?

I'd love a lighter crank, but I've been leaning toward the fully-balanced one. Reading IJ's testimony kinda sold me on the 7m. :)

That's actually the biggest reason I'm shelling out an extra $400 or so for JE pistons -- because with them I'll be able to shave off half the 7m crank's extra weight.

Will do. I would recommend starting a new thread when we get things set in stone, though -- nobody's going to want to read through 29 pages to get details. :)

True. We'll start one once we get things finalized for the MSL Dyno and maybe BBQ at somebody's house, just to hang out after a cruise or what not.

Sounds cool. I'd be down for a BBQ at the house of one of the more rural folks -- would probably be a bit more open and relaxed than Hooters.

I can personally vouch for the coolness of bobtsgt, dbrown, a couple of other Kentuckians, Matt (MKII), Jon (MDC), Grant (Oneandgone), Al Jordan, and Dan (Michigan), if any of them decide to show up. There are several others that are cool as well, but I don't remember their names. :(

By "coolness" above, I mean that I'd be comfortable inviting them to my house, if I had a house to invite them to.

The Kentuckians hosted a BBQ at a member's house last year, and it apparently went pretty well. (I didn't make it, because I was working)

Jspec: Cool. Got any hot half-Korean sisters? ;) J/k, lol.

My (recently ex-)g/f just shipped off to South Korea for a year, to teach English to little school children there. She's posted in Yeosu, and is loving it.

Matt: That's what we're trying to figure out, man! Here are our options: Dyno, maybe IRP, Hooters, BBQ at someone's house, some combination of all these, or perhaps something else. We need folx to chime in with their input!

My Supra probably won't be in racing or dynoing form at that time, so I'll probably just be tagging along with you guys (hopefully in my Supra, with the bodywork done).

Sweet, twice the fun! How do you know they're out of my age range? You don't even know how old I am. ;) (j/k, of course) :)

You say that like it's a bad thing!

So, EVERYONE ELSE: What sounds good? May 6th, Dyno, BBQ? Or what? Speak up!

ehh, At least we've pended down a date. Here, Let me try to visualize it...
About 12 in the afternoon, Meet at Hooters in Greenwood, IN for a Lunch and cruise around after that. Afterwards, go to IRP(maybe) and then MSL for Tuning/Dyno time...then maybe by this time we can just hang out and then go to someones house for a BBQ maybe for dinner...hang out..and that could be the end of it!:) I think it sounds fun:drool:

*having flashbacks from the last IRP meet...*

As long as more than.... 4 cars show up, we're cool I guess. Dyno would be nice, as I could see how close I was to the 180 mark and I'd have time to try to figure out how to get a little more power before Chi2k6. :naughty: I seriously doubt anyone wants to drive an hour and a half south to get to my place... Personally, I think it'd be sweet to find a nice park up in Indy and just have a BBQ there and save the hooters for dinner. That way we could all shoot the shit while it was still daylight, of course this is only if it's nice here before the meet. fuggin IN weather.

I know two parks in Indy -- Southeastway and Paul Ruster. Both are a bit out of the way (kinda the southeast corner of Marion County), but both would be a nice place to have a BBQ. I'll keep an eye out for parks on the southwest side.

I don't think we'd have time to do lunch, dyno, IRP, and dinner in one day... the dynos I've gone to so far have consisted of lots of standing around, and the occasional pull. I think it would probably be safe to assume, with a small turnout, spending 3 or so hours at the dyno, and wanting to spend 4-5 at IRP.
