yeah anyone who says the 7m is hard to work on has had NO experience working on other cars. the 7m especially is a dream to work on.

the 1jz is just as easy EXCEPT for the turbos...when it comes time they will be a bitch to remove.

I love how these JZ boyz are coming on here and saying how much eisier the 1JZ is to work on over the 7M because of the spark plugs. Try comparing replacing fuel injectors. I swapped out the injectors on my friends 1JZ and I literally could not get my big hand where it needed to be around the fuel rail. I never had that problem working on my 7M injectors.

Either way. The 7M isn't bad after some practice.
I didn't find taking injectors out of a 1J any harder than a 7M? :dunno:

Took me like an hour and a half to change an igniter on one once. You have to remove the entire intake system just to get at it :nono:

THat's the way it is with the rear bank plugs and wires too, not fun at all, but once you done it, you'll never forget how to do it, and you're faster at it every time after that.

Got up at about 7:30 am a few weekends ago. Pulled the engine and trans in my '78 Nova drag car. Replaced with new engine and trans combo. Finished by 1 o'clock to watch the Steelers game. Broke in and ready to race after game/dinner.

Compared to that, anything is "hard."

I don't think the 7M is difficult, but getting to the knock sensors was a b**** last night.

You usually have to remove the rail to get the injectors out.. 7m can just pop the injectors out easily..

carburetor, no harness other then power ground fuel line and spark plug wire. 2 motor mount bolts, 2 tranny xmember bolts and driveshaft.

not much is easier then that because theres nothing to make it difficult.

My 77 celica i had was the same way to pull the motor/tranny, except it was 4 cylinder

You can just undo the top part of the intake manifold from the bottom, slide it back to reveal the rail, and pull the injectors out of the top with the 1JZ. Side-feeds are easy :) Hell, you can do it without even unbolting the manifold if you want. It's a little tight, but it is possible.

When i first got the supra and my first task was removing the motor, it was a little difficult figuring out how to do everything but after i got it out it took me less than half the time(it took me to take it out) to put the other motor in. This is comming from just having worked on mostly Hondas which are a piece of cake to do any work on.
The jz comment..it dunno about that..Took me about an hour the first time i changed the oil on my moms 05 is300...screw try to figure out how to get the oil filter in between the IM and shock tower and not burn your arm. Maybe i'll do it from the bottom next time but i dont really feel like taking that whole bottom engine cover off.
