Just to chime in as I've been using meth for about 2 years now..

I run a 50/50 mix and used to run a 80meth /30water mix on my 1jz.

I strictly run 50/50 since reading some info online somewhere and it convinced me. I had john reed tune the car for 24 PSI of boost on my 67DDB, and the car has been flawless... I needed my DLI for the AEM and I also needed to gap the plugs lower because the water/meth...

I'm running 94 octane and meth when i made 647 dyno run at 24 PSI and I have a m15 nozzle torque freaks kit form Derek. Formerly derek's devices.

I use the stock mk3 resivior as the tank since it has a float to see if there is fluid in there and I had nos pace to mount another tank.

So far So good no complaints!!! EVERYTHING has been working great and the AEM triggers the meth on at 15 PSI.

Thanks Eric. Can you possibly tell me how much timing you're running @ 15-24 psi around 5000rpm and beyond? I'm only going to run 93 octane and 20psi of boost so I"m not going for huge numbers. I want to bump my timing up to about 18* instead of the 15.5 I"m running now. I"m just curious as to how much timing you're running.
Is your kit a progressive kit or does it come on full blast at once. I was told by the Snow's Performance tech to have mine come on @ 11 and then full @ 19psi.

Thanks again to everyone for their opinions and suggestions.

I have also added an HKS DLI since my last tune. Hopefully this will help with spark blowout. I have my plugs currently gapped to .022, what are yours set at Eric?

I ended up making 500rwhp and 467rwtq @ 18psi and 20* of timing.
I was having fueling issues on the dyno so I didn't get to add more boost. I'll try again later. I really need to see some timing maps from other cars running the meth injection.

I was running a max of 24* timing at 18PSI (22-23* @ max torque), I was probably running more methanol than you tho. What size nozzle are you running?

Damnit Justin.................:biglaugh:

I was loving the answer I got from Scott.........yours.....not so much......:icon_bigg

I reduced mine to a max of 20* before I went racing last night, but at Max torque I think it's even lower.

I'm running a 625 nozzle from Snow's performance, but they said it's equivalent to the m15. I have my meth coming on at 11psi and full spray at 19psi although I'm not running nineteen psi of boost. That's what the tech guy at Snow's performance suggested. I checked my plugs after fourty pulls on the dyno and they look perfect. Not too hot or too rich.

Woody, I posted pictures of my car in the other thread. You'll have to see them there.

Yes, the numbers should be lower than the 2JZGE head because, IIRC the 2JZGE has larger exhaust ports, allowing less backpressure, meaning less heat. The turbocharger's hotside also has a lot to do with the ignition timing numbers, for the same reasons.

IIRC the valves are the same sizes. I think that both the 1jzgte and 2jzge use 1mm larger valves than the 2jzgte on the exhaust side, and 1mm smaller valves on the intake.
