Ian's right, a little bit goes a really long way (not many things suck up as much heat as water!)

Rakkasan, that'd be cool - we'll have a SoutEast meet @ Jay's place :D

This is the kit I'm using. It installs rather easily and it has a green light that comes on when the pump is activated so you know it is working.

Here is the nozzle I'm using. It's 625 ml.

thanks for the link suprahero. if you don't mind me asking, what is the differences in the nozzles? why is there different ones? is it kinda like the nitrous jets?

Do either of you not have a catch can connected?

Jay, How did you decide upon using the M15 nozzle? Reason I say this is that I used a calculator on the Devils Own site and it recommends a m10 nozzle for your application. I know the calculator is only an estimate but that is what it says.
I've never had a catch can installed on my car. As for the nozzle, that's what the guys @ Snow Performance suggested. He didn't ask me how much boost or anything I was running. He just asked me how much horsepower I was going to be making. I'm only adding three more pounds of boost, so I think this nozzle is way too big. Can you show me the caculations you used to figure up which nozzle I needed? I'm thinking about ordering two smaller nozzles and having it squirt from both sides. Thanks.

J: I was worried about distribution using a single nozzle as my FFIM has a 90 degree turn into #1 so I went for the 6 nozzles, as the Meth/Water is only additive and not actually running the engine you'll be surprised at how little is needed to do the job and keep it out of detonation.
I think the nozzle I have is spraying too much water. I can use my new camera and show you guys a clip of it spraying. I'll do it when I get back from the store. Thanks Ian.

Thanks Doward. Maybe Mark will be up here when you're up here. That would be cool although we'd all have a lot to do. We're pulling his motor out and installing the 1.5jz, and you'll be tuning.............all supra work and no play makes us.........pissed. I'm sure we can fit in something to do though.

The different sizes spray larger or smaller amounts of water and meth into your intercooling pipes. I'm not sure I'm running the correct one yet, but I'm also not driving my car until I figure it out. My car is running too good right now to screw it up with too much or not enough boost juice........:icon_bigg

Jay,

Here is a printout of the calculation that popped out on the converter. The numbers may be a little higher than your current setup but there are so many variables that it is almost impossible to calculate. It will get you in the ballpark and then you just have to do lots of testing.

I am also going to post a file that I found that has all the methanol concentrations for various windshield washer fluid. I am hoping you will be mixing it yourself but you never know when you run out and need something that is close to what is in your tank.

Can't wait to see pictures and results. It will give me a good indication of what I should get for my setup.

I enjoy working on other supras, but I enjoy driving mine. I'd rather not be working on it, but sometimes it has to be done. Yesterday I put another lsd in my car because my 3.73's were unappy and wanted to whine all the time. I haven't driven this one yet to make sure it's o.k. Hopefully it is.
I'm not going to drive mine until I can get it tuned and that's going to be at least a week. In the mean time and in between time I've got a few things I can be doing for Mark's build. Hopefully the machinst come through for me and don't leave me hanging for more than a week.

10sec.........I thought I posted my setup, but now I don't see it. I couldn't find the site with the calculations on it. I see where you calculated it, but it wouldn't let me change the variables.

boost...........20psi
pressure.......150psi pump
rpms............7500

Will you try those numbers and tell me what it says? I'm thinking about going with two nozzles. I've ordered what I need except for the nozzles because I don't know which ones I'll need.

Here you go Jay. Unfortunately the calculator does not change the pump output so expect it to flow a bit more. I think you will be fine with dual 5gph/m5 (315ml) nozzles or a single 10gph/m10 (630ml) nozzle.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully some others will chime in and give their two cents worth on this setup. I will call snow performance today and ask them what they think and make sure they understood my setup correctly. I plan on making a video with my new camera to show you how much water it's pushing out. Hopefully it's as easy to upload onto photobucket as my last camera. Thanks again.

You have a 625ml nozzle you said, and thats what the other side recomends as well... so you're good to go.

I agree just run the single 625ml nozzle. Having 2 nozzles may or may not give you a better spray pattern. The only way to get an equal amount of meth/water to each cylinder is by direct port on each runner.

Thanks guys. I talked with the tech at Snow's today and he said the two nozzles don't work better. Their tests prove that the 625 actually atomizes better than two smaller nozzles. I'm going to run it for now and see how the car likes it. He said that if it was too much, the car would act like it had bad plugs and then I could try a smaller nozzle.
I can't take pictures of my setup right now because I've dropped my car off to be repainted before the taking it to the Texas meet. I'm going to go tomorrow to pick out a color as close to mine as possible. It's lighter than the 8j3 and I want to keep it that way. Hopefully I can find something relatively close. Since I'm painting the whole car, I won't be able to tell that it's different other than just knowing what my car looked like. I'm kinda scared about picking out a new color, but my car needs a freshening up. I'm also installing my whale tail and my rear skirts. I decided against the side skirts. Some cars make them look good and other........not so much.

Thanks for entertaining me in this thread and for answering my quetions. I hope to meet some of you in Texas and I hope to meet some of you for a second or third time.

I can't take pictures right now because my car is at the painters shop. I will get pictures one day in the not too distant future..........I promise.....:x:

Hurry up with this, I wanna see numbers!!

I'm just as excited as everyone else, but I'm having to go through steps. Once I get it back from the painter, I'm going to weld in a bung to thread my nozzle into instead of having it threaded into the ic pipe like it is now. I'm scared it will eventually work it's way loose..........:aigo:

Thanks, but I'm still too scared. I'd rather weld it in and be done with it. I'm through trying to make my engine bay look pretty. I've now got to add a catch can and that's just one other thing in there to clutter it up. I want it fast and I want it pretty too look at as I'm passing everyone............:biglaugh:

I got my weld in pieces today, but I don't have a pipe to weld them into until my car gets back from the shop. I think I'll go tomorrow and take the pipe off and have it welded while it's being painted. topnothch2jz just bought a new $3000.00 tig welder so he needs some practice.........:biglaugh:
