If you could have any aftermarket part what would it be?

it's all about the $30,000 1300+hp 2JZ setup Supra Store has that they're tryin to get rid of. i'd make that fit in my car somehow and then never have to worry about blowin head gaskets at like 10psi.:sarcasm:

haha... thats awesome..> F the T56!!

i should ask him and see what he says.

i actually had ideas about taking apart a stock tranny and contracting a local machinest/gear cutter to make the same gears only with straight cut teeth, 1st thru 4th. i dont see a need for a straight cut 5th so id keep it helical just for comfort's sake. but the guy said it was $500 per gear. his machine could cut a gear up to 12" wide. the gears inside the R154, iirc, are under 1" thick. which means i should have been able to get at least 11 full sets of gears for $4000... thats an expensive experiment though. lol

DO IT

hell, you don't really need all of the gears done, as first gear is where the failure hapens...

first gear thrust washer is the only true weak link IMHO...

yeah, i would have to agree with you. everything ive seen and heard has only pointed to that being the problem. i just figured that 1-4 could make the R154 as strong as the V160.

ive seen R154's behind 800rwhp cars before but in stock form, they only lasted a year or two at the most.

I dont recall hearing about shaved gears but then again, i havent heard much discussion about failed trannies lately. i remember someone, possibly zazzn or Bert, ate them up and had several broken ones stacked in his garage.

someone, send me a broken R154, maybe i can do some legwork. unless someone here has the resources to do it better than i can.

btw, i also had ideas to create new shift forks out of CNC 6061 aluminum. One of the shift forks are particularly weak. the guides on fingers of one of the forks, i think the 1/2 fork, have a C-channel cross sectional design. the flanges on it are only about 4mm thick each, and were of course, broken! the other fork is just a solid cross section, ungrooved. this was not broken. either these forks are magnesium/forged magnesium, or forged aluminum. they ring like a bell when you tap them on something metal but are SUPER light!!!

I've always wanted Keith at Rev'd Up Kustomz to clone me his MKIV. For free.

And a CF-everything body, so that if I ever got in a wreck it would all explode into millions of multi-colored Smarties candies- wait, what?

wow. i sincerely hope you didn't buy those new....

certainly nice pieces, but just not practical.

Yes. I bought them new about a year ago. I did alot of canyon runs way back when. But they don't wear the tires at all. proper alignment!

the JIC A-arms aren't meant to correct alignment for lowered vehicles or to get the alignment to where when you launch the car the camber is dead perfect...

The JIC arms are for adding camber, not taking it out...

Its to bad 99.99% of mk3 owners are not willing to pay for what it takes to make some of these custom parts........I cant even give my twin GT28R 1jz turbo kit away :icon_roll . I am lucky I never decided to make a production run of it or I would be out allot of money !!

BTW solid pre 89 motor mounts are now available!!!!
