Toyota had it right w/ the 86.5-88's. Then they had to go and screw it all up w/ the '89+ cars!

The above picture ruins the lines of the car. It's likely to look the same if you fire a missile at it head-on. :) That is, of course, my opinion.

I agree with you about the front end but the rear end looks much better on the 89+.

has anyone ever (on a pre-89) changed the front turn signals to the post 89 but of course left the bumper the pre-89? I imagine you'd have to take out or make a customs centerpiece, but curious what it looks like.

I've seen one on here before, it was a red supra. It was posted on a thread comparing the pre 89 with a shaved licence plate and the 89+ with the turbo A duct. I'll poke around and see if I can find it.

Very Nicely Done. However I was thinking the center piece made of CF and the top grille being slightly thinner from left to right and then no grilles filling them, and in the top duct the toyota emblem would be centered. otherwise damn close to what I was thinking but a tad still off.

For me, it depends entirely on the car. :) (I actually like the '89+ fronts, too, just not as much as the pre '89)

The part that covers over the bumper itself is CF, the rest just fiberglass. look at the front image of the pixel car in my sig, take that and think the new GTR, but instead of extremely curvy like the GTR think more squarish to fit with the rest of the body curves of the car.

Hope This Helps

kinda looks like they just peeled the cover away and left the steel frame :D not a fan, imo, but done right it could be pulled off and make the owner happy

Oh, okay I see now..

Well the bumper would have to have a frame around it, and stick out, and be part of the header panel...

any chance you had a chance to do up a photoshop on the newest rendition?

not yet, might work on it today once I get home...

I'll have to pop out the signals or recess the header panel, I'm thinking of doing the former, so we'll see what I can whip up..

From your description is pretty much want an Evo X bumper on the MKIII, with a flat abbreviated nose..

an Evo X style bumper yes. but following suite with the types of curves with the rest of the body. think in a sense that "if toyota had designed this as stock, what would it look like". I don't want it to be too greatly modified, or atleast not have the presence like it was greatly modified to get the look.
