I'm a skeptic when it comes to aftermarket performance products fit & finish, more often fit is the issue. BIC downpipes may be a small scale custom product, but it met and exceeded all my expectations. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my Supra and am a 100% satisfied customer after installing my BIC downpipe. Randy's attention to detail and workmanship are apparent the moment you open the box. I had ZERO issues installing the downpipe. There were ZERO fittiment/clearance issues or leaks. Sometimes you get what you pay for, sometimes you don't. It's usually the knockoff copies that are most prone to causing headaches. With BIC downpipes, I feel like I got what I paid for. There may be cheaper alternatives out there, but will the savings be worth it down the road when you start having problems with the product?

Randy, the quality of your products is second to none! Keep up the great work. I'd buy from you again in a heartbeat!

Well said.

And lets say a weld on this product breaks.
You could simply contact Randy, the designer/fabricator/owner of the company and I'm sure he will help.
OR
You have to chase people down, whoever is selling it(forgot his name exactly), then he has to chase down his manufacturer, you ship it back, who knows where it goes, if it gets fixed... etc.

Quality is just more important.

Yes, well said.

So what is the moral of the story?
If it's a China-made copy, throw rocks at it and go with our die-hard buddy Randy. He's worked his butt off and still does.

For him to buy your BIC downpipe, do some slight changes, then have it shipped off to China for copies is VERY wrong, but it happens.

With that being said, stay away from the BecauseICAN'T downpipes. They are knockoffs. ;)

I would buy a BIC DDP over that any day of the week.
Money aside, it's what Randy said that really matters the most to me, anyway.

All the BIC parts are hand made and welded by myself, I have worked very hard to start my own business and see it grow. I make only top quality hand made parts. There is no way I can compete with the pricing of mass produced parts made in China. My cost of materials is about the cost of the finnsihed China made product and the quality of the parts are questionable at best, half of the stuff doesnt even fit with out the warped flanges, re-welding or adding braces. Will it even fit the car?, has he tested the products, and dyno tested them like I have?, proably not.

Well thats about I have to say right now, and I hope you guys will be loyal to the guys that are loyal to you, the customer. Support your local Supramania sponsor.

i'll stick with randy's products. he's the one who did the r&d, he's the one who started making these for the community, he tested them on the dyno and has the scars to prove it (burns), randy is the one i'll buy my stuff from.

that's all there is to it. i'll support the little guy.

QUALITY CRAFTMANSHIP

Keep it up Randy

Damn right, USA made stuff FTW. chiness metal is crap anyways, almost every clone I've seen to date, from china, was cheap, and sucked ass in quality. I'm pretty sure this guy wont be getting a whole lot of business, you know where our loyalty lies.

Randy (BIC) is in Canada. ;)

I agree 100% with shaeff. Being raised in my house, provided by money my father made from our family owned small business, I have the utmost respect for any small business. I support the "little guy" every time I can.

Have you experienced this with the new guys yet? Maybe they will be standing behind their product as well.
No one can judge anything before trying it out....

Thanks for the support guys. I do stand behind my products, and test them before they get sold.

By the way I am having sale on my parts, for about another week or so, including downpipes, testpipes and engine brackets, 15% off, which come out to over $50 off on the DDP!!!!

No, I have not dealt with the new guy. And I am not judging him yet.
But, Did he design/make/and sell the product all himself?
You will still have to be dealing with more than 1 person, which takes time, especially if one of those legs is in another Country.

These new guys also have not yet provided the information and expertise Randy has.
Randy's products are dyno proven and proffesionally tested. We see his products everyday on our cars.

Here is my judgement... These chinese products will not hold up like Randy's products and service.

Finally, somebody is being logical. Randy has been making this style of downpipe for a while, and everybody has been paying nearly 400 dollars for a downpipe because it's all made in low production numbers by hand. Yes, he stands behind his product, but you can't insult somebody for coming out with a similar product at a much lower price. There's no patriotism involved because his products are made in Canada. To say that zwmotorsports isn't going to do anything for the supra community is a lie as well. They're working on a new 7M manifold that will be affordable and will place the turbo in a spot where you can make a decent downpipe. If you want to support Randy, that's all fine and well, but don't slander a business that hasn't shipped out a single product yet.

It seems like a company that will grow and provide for the community if you come out with more new products(I like the looks of the manifold). I believe what tilted my own and everyone else's head is how a DDP was bought from Randy with sole purpose to be copied...

There's nothing wrong with a cheaper, mass-produced product based on another.
But buying and directly copying the one thats already in production...

Well good luck on your company.

That's the most contradictory statement I've ever seen. Not very objective....

I said I was not judging the company YET...

At the end of my post I THEN gave my judgement on the product...

I thought the announcement of my judgement clarified I was then making a first impression judgement. Guess not.
