Same here, I was staring at that for quite some time, looks very nice.

$220 and $225?? damn... helluva good deal, just need some test pilots to see if these things do hold up and perform like BIC's
i guess i will be one of the first guinea pigs! and for the record, i was gonna buy anything to replace the stock one and this seems like a good deal!

Exactly, so there's no room to complain about a cheaper, better, and more durable product.

I hope to have one on my car in the next week or two, videos will hopefully come shortly thereafter.

Wow that's a perfect design Jeff. The only thing I didn't like about the re-routed DDP was how it routed back in at kind of a harsh angle, but yours is the most free flowing thing I've ever seen. I wish I had the time and skill to do that to mine.

Wow, I go away for a weekend and all this drama happens....... this is pretty dissapointing actually, here is the story. I sold this guy (Bo) aka zoonwhatever, a downpipe in July of this year, now like 2 months later he is trying to sell them under his own name with China made replica's. You guys are right, I dont have a patent (yet) on the ddp, and yes people can make a similar product, its a free country, BUT what is very wrong here is that he just bought my ddp and sent it to China and had them copied. They are identical to my downpipes exept for the flex section, and btw what a dumb spot to put the flex, where it will rub the floor of the car and catch on every speed bump, also the divider plate that only looks like its tacked on and will most likely fall off the first time it gets hot or boosted.

Now IF he took the time, money and effort to design and test his own downpipe, and it wasnt 99% identical to mine fair enough, but to blatantly steal someone elses product and pawn it off as his own is just wrong, and I hope you guys can see that and remember it when it come to deciding what products to buy.

All the BIC parts are hand made and welded by myself, I have worked very hard to start my own business and see it grow. I make only top quality hand made parts. There is no way I can compete with the pricing of mass produced parts made in China. My cost of materials is about the cost of the finnsihed China made product and the quality of the parts are questionable at best, half of the stuff doesnt even fit with out the warped flanges, re-welding or adding braces. Will it even fit the car?, has he tested the products, and dyno tested them like I have?, proably not.

Well thats about I have to say right now, and I hope you guys will be loyal to the guys that are loyal to you, the customer. Support your local Supramania sponsor.

I come from a land down under
Patents offer very little protection as to get around them the design only needs to be changed 10% :(

I can't really see spending money on getting one would help in this case anyway seeing they're made in China.

Over the years I've had this happen with quite a few products I produce, I remember walking into a Mountain Bike store and seeing Purple anodised clones of parts I designed and made.

I can understand why you're quick to insult the new product, but seeing as nobody's actually seen one yet, I think you're jumping the gun. You've had the corner on the market for a while, do you think that could hold up? Like you said, you make them all yourself, so it's very labor intensive. You've learned a lesson about business, you always have to compete, even if it doesn't seem like there's anybody to compete with. Just remember that everybody insulted Japanese cars when they first came to the states, and look where we are now. Your business may or may not be affected, but you've learned a lesson and it's probably time to move on.

Also, the downpipes aren't much of a replica, if you look you'll see some differences.

Randy, It was obviously designed right from your design, and it is business. In the end it means cheaper parts for the consumer, and I think that's what the MKIII world needs.

But of course, I'm still glad I have a genuine BIC.
