There are people on this board that will piss and moan about anything, but that's neither here nor there.
Randy has been selling his product for a while, but the price is really steep for a five foot section of mild steel piping that he spraypaints.
If you look closely, these downpipes are all mandrel bent, the only welds are for the flex section and flanges. They also come with bungs for a wideband and are made of stainless steel AND have a flex section. I don't know what you're complaining about, it's simply a better product. If the flex section does end up causing a clearance issue, I'm sure that will be remedied in the future. This is another site that's making new products for our cars. Yes, it's a divorced downpipe, but you can't say that's copying randy any more than HKS copied toyota by making an aftermarket exhaust manifold. This is an improvement on the divorced design, just as the forthcoming 7m manifold designs will be an improvement on the other manifolds on the market. You can't expect for their to be no competition in the performance parts market, so get over it and appreciate the fact that people still care about making new products for this car.

i have talked to this dude over myspace...he shot me a price of the mid $200 range...and ceramic coating is avalible...its going to be made from the same stainless steel...i dont see where very much HP could be robbed here....

Lawsuit is crazy. That's like saying anytime an NBA player does a 360 dunk, he has to pay royalties to the creator of the 360 dunk. Or anytime a moonwalk is done in a music video, royalties will have to be paid to Michael Jackson.
If it's a good product, it'll last a while, if it doesn't, it'll die as soon. It depends on the consumer, marketing and if it's any good.

As much as Im on Randy's side, if he didn't patent it or copyright it, he can't file lawsuit.

just got off email's with him, 220 for a regular ddp vented to atmosphere and 225 vented back in! im still gettign the atmosphere one tho hahaha.

A downpipe is a downpipe. The design makes the power not who makes it. It will work jsut the same I am sure.
Also Randy did not patent the DDP. I am sure people have been doing this for years and he just made one supra specific

I agree to disagree. If i made a product and someone copies it. I'd be mad and agree. But i doubt you would disagree at the fact SHINE is making all Bomex parts and they happen to be better quality then BOMEX then i disagree. Why not get something better for cheaper. I'm not saying Randy's part isn't great it might be, but if someone decides to make their own and improve on something they think is a flaw then so be it.
