I don't have any input on these specifically, but I honestly don't like my Defi BFs.

I bought four of them, installed them during the early months of this year. They were great until i started taking the top off, and wearing sunglasses.

With the brightness set to full, I cannot see the needle 1: in direct sunlight 2: with sunglasses on.

They're flashy, and make people say oh wow those are cool, but I really regret buying them. I wish I had bought the cheaper, link series, that just have the normal face.

Oh well, live and learn, and make thousand dollar mistakes.

my friend has them on his wrx..... they are nice but they are totally dark when off and light with power. they are fine in the daytime but bright as hell at night, and its kind of annoying...... they do not have a dim feature, we put some 20% tint on my friends and they are decent at night now, but harder to read in the daytime.

Do they have a seperate power line for the illumination? If so, wiring in a dual position relay with a resistor pack should solve the problem.

This statement alone already has me reconsidering these. I didnt even think about this scenario. Thank you for pointing this out. I guess I will be looking for some normal gauges as I dont need all that cool. I just need something that works all the time, and my top will be out in this car alot

Thanks for pointing this out as well. I keep my dash dim at night so I think these will be way too much for me

if you're worried about them being to bright, why not just put in a variable resitance rheostat on the power wire that lights them up? turn up the resistance, the less bright the lights will be.
That could be an option. Thanks for the info. Has anyone else had any problems seeing them during daylight with the top out?

Be sure to post info on the illumination during the day. Do you have a targa? I would like to have more info on any illumination issues in sunshine with the top out.

as soon as i get em and install em i'll post pics. both daylight and nightime. i can't take my targa off cause it leaks and it's siliconed down till i get some new seals. if i take it off it'll start leaking again.

I just ordered the electric water temp, electric boost, and A/F ratio the other day. Once I get them in and installed, I'll post some pics.

they have hoods for them so you MIGHT have luck...

I'll more than likely be getting some in green/white, they thought it out pretty well, they're bright white during the day, turn on oyur headlights, green to match teh factory backlighting...

Just dunno how much I'm gonna trust that boost sensor... maybe you can get a better one? Maybe it's just bad luck, but the gauges look good and they seem to get good reviews, and they're actually reasonable unlike Defi's...

do you want them to match? or do you actually want replacements?

it looks like you could get a set of speedhut gauge covers in the right colors to pull it off well... though the green/white prosports will look great with green LED's in the dash (I'd get a nice red LED for the needles if you can)

Poodles, I had thought of that exact thing - running the green/white prosports + a set of matching green LEDs in the dash - I'd just rather have the fonts of the numbers matching, as well.
