You've heard the old saying "When the Lord closes a door, he opens a window somewhere". Sounds hokey I know but you need to find that window.

Your descriptions of yourself sound familiar. I didn't get my shit together until my late 20's. I'm surprised my wife stayed with me. I'm still not ambitious in any way though.

What exactly does that have to do with being relationship material? Determining someones long term relationship ability by their looks is what gets us men into trouble in the first fucking place! Seriously guys, look past the boobs into the heart to find a woman you want to spend time with.

Doing a bit better.

All of a sudden I'm a morning person. And I don't mean like 9am, I mean 5:30 and full of energy ready for a run.

I've cut ALL caffeine and stupid medicine out of my system (was on anti-allergy stuff), and I'm getting better.

The nights are the worst right now though, while during the day I can keep my mind off of things, my dreams are horrible.

That and I've started listening to country...wtf is wrong with me? :rofl:

I know I know it's not about looks alone. I was just being shallow and superficial for the sake of humor so don't take that so seriously. Serena, I'm not really like that. I know you got brains and a heart. They are just packaged very nicely. Oh crap, there I go again...sorry :icon_razz

Relationships fail regardless of looks. You can see great examples of that in Hollywood.

I've never had a guy who truly treated me well (not even "like a queen"; just the way I treat him) until the most recent one - and he's the one who ran away, not me. My friends are the ones saying he doesn't deserve me, and I'm sure they're right, but I'm definitely not playing it up for the drama factor. God, I fucking hate relationships. /rant

I'm sorry for what you're going through. It's always tough to end a relationship, especially after that amount of time. Know that we've all been there and sympathize. A lot of people like the idea of a revenge fuck, but everyone grieves differently and what works for your friends or one of us may not help you at all.

If I may offer a bit of advice about the car: Don't sell it. If you can't bear to look at it, see if you can keep it at a friend's house or even in storage. Give it some time so the memories aren't as painful, then decide whether or not you still want to get rid of it. If you do it now you may end up regretting it. I speak from personal experience, but I was lucky enough to get mine back. I nearly got out of Supras altogether over a guy who wasn't worth my time and I would hate to see you do the same.

Hang in there, try to take it one day at a time - or one hour, or one MINUTE at a time if that's what it takes to get you through this - and remember we're all rooting for you.

Go out with some friends and start meeting new people and you might surprise yourself with how good you are with the ladies now that you're not taken. No arguement from me on that. However single men are just as bad. It seems to me that the vast majority of guys I know play head games and manipulate women just get in bed with them. Even when they are being truthful they have NO idea what they really want. They go from woman to woman and there always seems to be one prettier they will turn their head for. True commitment seems to be a completely lost concept for most guys. Honesty is apparently also impossible to these guys.

So sometimes I cant blame women for the way they treat men. So much of it is justified payback. The problem is nice honest guys pay the price because they invest heart and soul into relationships doomed by the past.

This is part of the reason why I have basically given up on women. I had more than my share when I was younger and "threw away" a few that I never should have let go...so I figure I got some alone time coming to me.
