Mike, you know I apologized for that, and I'm not going to do it again. If I had known it was you..........I would have just asked to speak with DT.........:naughty:

Are those Mk4 rims on your Mk3? If so, are you using spacers on them so they dont sit too far inside the arches?

They are MKIV TT rims, no spacers. I've run MKIV TT's on almost all of my MKIII's. I've never had to use spacers?

I'm not gonna lie, I'm cheap and seeing some of the threads here makes me feel right at home. My buddy still looks at me weird when I ask him why he paid 7k for a GN with rod knock, or wants to pay 9.5k for another g body that he would rate as a 7/10. As much as I like American cars, thats just a little far for me.

Cheap is all right up until you start putting stuff together with duct tape.

Not wanting to pay $11000 for a $2000 car does not make you cheap! It means you are not a sucker!

Junkyards get more than $2K for the parts if they know what the car is...

I paid way too much for my car because it was the options I was looking for. I do regret it at times, but I work with it.

why would you go to mcdonalds to pay 10 bucks on a dollar menu burger? its not being cheap, its just common sense to not spend an unnessecary amount of money unless you have a high cashflow where money isnt an issue, but people with that kinda dough usually dont buy 17 year old cars

I understand what you guys are saying,

And it only makes perfect sense that if you've got TWO identical cars
For example: (same condition, mileage, color, year, etc)
One is $6,000 and the other is $2,500.....

Then of course! You'd be silly to buy the one for $6,000.
But all of us saying we'd spend the EXTRA money on a car would be making reference to the cars out there that have uber low mileage, garage kept, one owner, perfect paint, perfect interior, spotless engine bay, etc.

*sigh* It's hard to get through some peoples heads, the point that some of us are trying to make........But give it a few years and you'll see why we're trying to emphasize why a truly MINT Supra can be worth a lot of money.

i completely agree, just thought the whole debate (6 pages long) was kinda pointless as its his choice what to ask for the car and the buyers choice what to pay. debating this issue here isn't going to make him lower his price. maybe after not getting the response he wants he will lower the price if he really wants to sell it.

Someone better buy before PINKS march edition comes out...then it will be worth twice as much...

MKIIIs are coming back!!!!!!

yeah, it's something i've kinda been worried about that when i decide to build my dream mk3 in like ten years or so. i hope the public stays completely oblivious about what a great car this is and have no clue what that knightrider lookin' thing is as they point down the street. keep your eyes on the mk4s, nothing to see here :p

Hope he gets it. If everyone didn't sell their MK3's for less than $8k I bet the market would go up just like the MKIV.
Unless they're stupid or strapped for cash there aren't any MKIV's that even pay attention to KBB prices. They sell em for what they're worth on the market and WAIT till it's SOLD. They don't drop the price $5k because eventually they WILL find a buyer that wants it, just like I did with mine.

I will never sell my car for under $6,000. People need to start selling their MkIII's for what they're worth. If you think about it, if everyone gradually starting selling their MkIII's for more and more, we would see a point in time where everyone started valuing these cars more and more. What makes them worth 2-4,000? But selling you're Supra that cheap just means I get a 8k car for 3k. You're loss.

If you believe your extremely nice/clean mark 3 is worth half it's valve, sell it to someone who values it more than you, simple.

Just my word, everyone is entitled to their opinion,
Matt

Are you collecting Supras? I'm not being a smart ass, I'm just wondering.

Do you have a different car (Non-Supra) you daily drive to keep the miles off those amazing Supras? And how long did it take to get all 3?

Sorry for the survey haha.
