The cargo cover is covering trunk, visible is garbage bag and misc. garbage; possibly more in trunk.

That's what I was afraid of....may the lord help you if there's a dead person in there. lol. :icon_mad:

although you probably would have smelled something. then again, if a carcass was bagged it wouldnt stench up the place...and you saw a bag.

tread softly. lol.

last option i'd say would be to leave a note saying you want the car and/or a note to whomever might tow it to call you so you know where it ends up. dunno how feasable that is or if you want your phone number laying in a shady lot.

I also agree do NOT break in, it's definitely not worth any more trouble then some sleuthing to find the owner.

good luck!

there was a pre 89 turbo by my house that sat there for months and i went to dmv and got a abandon title and sent letters to the previous owners saying that they had 30 days or im taking it. in the end the county ended up towing it and crushing it  made me cry for weeks.

Well, thanfully it's a bit more complicated here ( thankfully so they can't tow it easily, not thankfully because I can't get an abandonned cr title).

I just came back from the police station and they gave me the actual street addres that was last registered with the vin. Could be his current, could be long gone. Cop said if this doesn't work, then the only other option is to contact tim hortons/wendy's and try and get it from them I guess by having them tow it and me buying it then or something. He said if the lady calls to clean up the trash around there, the city can, but can't tow the car so I'm safe from the city even ahahaa. Only Tim Hortons/Wendy's can have it towed! Unless ofcourse; if the owner comes back for it out of the blue :icon_razz
I'm gona try the reverse phone look-up now that i have an address.

White pages.ca has no phone number for the address so it is either unlisted, or there is no phone at the place. I was able to procure a map via google to his door and will hopefully make a 20 minute trip out there tomorrow night. All I need is that golden piece of paper with his signature and the car will be mine :icon_bigg Lets hope he: is home, co-operates, doesn't shoot me.

Its always tough to know what to expect when you find the owner in a case like this. You obviously want the car bad enough to go about finding him, but you also want the car for as little as possible.

If I were you I would make up a story about working for the property owner and telling him you were hired to find the owner so you could have the car legally removed. Tell him you would like to do him a favor and actually give him some money for hauling it away. Offer to pay him by the pound for scrap weight (about .04/lb around here x the curb weight of the car 3400 = $136) and be prepared to give him that much cash in person in exchange for a signed bill of sale.

If you are convincing enough you might get away with it.

Become friends with a local towing co - Have them pick it up and file a lien for storage fees. Once no-one claims the vehicle (appr 20-30 days) they are the rightful owners and can auction it off or sell it privately to make up for their storage/towing fees. You have to be good friends though and be able to trust them to give it back to you for minimal fees (towing).

It's the only legit way I know (and yes, I've done this before..)

I'm still gona do the visit tomorrow at his place. Google maped it in satellite view and it looks like a nice neighborhood with large houses. His has cars in the driveway heh so I figure his number is unlisted and he's not poor. He just neglects his supras! ahhh!!!! I hope he's home so it's not a waste of time...:icon_razz

Maybe show him a price list from a local scrap buyer to lend credibility to your story. You want to convince him its in his best interest to sign the car over to you, and that you get paid by the property owner if you get rid of the car.

It could backfire if the guy IS the property owner, lol. I would say you could try posing as a city worker, but that might require an ID card and a truck sticker (both of which could be faked if you wanted to invest in the charade a little, lol.

I can however say do NOT attempt to impersonate an officer of the law. I had a friend try to impersonate an FBI agent and kidnapped a lawyer that was involved in a property dispute with his ex wife...hes spending 15-20 in a Virginia prison now. :nono: (moron)

My take on this situation is that he left this tired old car, (remember it has roughly 396,000km on the odo) on a vacant parking lot next to an abandoned building that has been abandoned since before he left the car there. He left it there because maybe it overheated? Maybe he did not want the hastle anymore? It is kinda rusty and missing parts like the windshield squirters and front supra emblem, some side trim, broken tail light, exhaust broke in half and rotting into ground... Maybe he doesn't care about it and if I show up asking honestly for the car, he might just be happy to get rid of it and remove his name from the hulk. I would of course offer a bit of cash should he need convincing, but thus far it looks like the car's been left for dead and I bet he will be more than happy to detach himself from it. Or at least that's what I hope heh:biglaugh:. I'm gona go there tonight hopefully getting at his house around 7pm which should give him time to be home from work.
eric

edit:
I forgot to mention it looked lowered so I checked and it is. It has yellow springs, not sure which company uses yellow but maybe it has engine mods also. I'm afraid to look under the hood hahaa. He better have keys.

I'm alive hahaa. I got to the guy's house, very nice rich-looking neighborhood I might ad, and he is in the USA but his wife spoke with me for a while. She told me how it was "sold" to a mechanic they know, but that was a year ago and once I told her it was still registered in their name she was pretty pissed. She said she will call the mechanic tomorrow to find out wtf is going on, and she has said I can have the car unless the mechanic says he wants it. I'm guessing he'll have to be pretty convincing though. Her husband get's back Monday/Tuesday next week so then he could go get a new ownership for me ($10) and the car would be mine! She's gona call me tomorrow to tell me what happens. I don't wana jinx anything but Horray for a practically free Supra! Maybe it's too far gone to fix, but I hope it's salvageable! I could always part it out if the thing is way out to pasture, but I would MUCH rather fix/drive her :icon_bigg Auto turbo, just like my old 92, the only diff. is this is hard top which i would have prefered it be targa but oh well, free is free. I'll post after I find out for sure if she can give me the car or not.

:icon_bigg Cryoslash suggested i pull the window out a bit to put a coat hanger inside to open the door. I feel like this would look TERRIBLY bad, probably prompting someone passing by or local to call the cops on me, and that's the last thing I need hahaaa.
