yes, however it looks like based on IJ that a 1.06 on a GT35 will start making boost at 2k and be up and ready at 3500rpm. damn!

IJ, what motor do you have and what mods? that's amazing spool time for a GT35 especially with a 1.06AR

soo....I'll need a bigger turbine housing, eh?

Have a look at the first page of my build thread for specs ;)

I was running the motor to 8300 back then so that's why the 1.06 and why I suggested the .8 for the stock redline.

While full boost may not happen till 3>3.5K you need to remember even at low boost the 3540 is moving a SHITLOAD more air than the CT ever could so "Lag" is way over rated.

The earlier you can hit full boost the less traction you're going to have due to the 7M's Tq curve, this will be different on a 1Jz though so again another reason a smaller ar will help.

no, just making sure

i'm a little confused with that as well. looks like IJ has a built 7m using the GT35 turbo. So Clueless I would think he's saying that the GT35r with a 1.06 AR will spool just fine for a 7m.

Right...originally he suggested a gt35r with a .82 hot side, so I'll need clarification.

i think the 35r with 0.82 was a recommendation for a 2.5L (1J) application

hmm....that would make sense. So I'd need the bigger one to keep from too much torque. I plan to have drag radials in the rear.... :naughty:

8300 redline needs more flow on the 7M so it doesn't choke power at the top end.

You have the stock redline so a .8ar will suit you better.

The way the 3540 comes on Traction IS going to be an issue with either ar.

The Blue was more addressing using one on a Jz as they don't have the massive midrange punch of a 7M to begin with and I'd look at a .68 maybe to counter this.

ok, I see now...I wonder what my options to counter this extra torque, bigger turbo? :biglaugh:

What's the end use for the car?

I use mine as a road car that turns corners so low profile rubber hurts straght line traction (check some of my vids to see just how bad it is with Trac turned off)

By comparison the new T04z comes on very smoothly it's almost gentle.

High power street car, highway cruiser....I'm thinking about running Nitto NT555R on the rear to help tame some of the power.

Edit: Where do I find your video?

That will help for sure, my tires are fairly hard as I'll do 1000 Km's per weekend and think nothing of a 300Km drive of a weeknight so soft rubber is out of the question here.
