I have had upgraded turbos from many companies and Albert's turbo has performed the best. Even though the old guy never lets the turbo spool all the way, now that I turned it past 10PSI to 15PSI, he full throttle every open block he has. No smoking or issues to report and makes the customer smile ear to ear.

Awesome awesome! That's what I want to hear.
Aside from that post, I've also seen many other people are happy with his rebuilds, so I definitely feel confident in having him do the work.

Your turbo sounds fine to me. Minor side to side play is the norm for a journal bearing turbo. Upgrading to a larger wheel is always fun, but if cash is tight you can spread your funds elsewhere and just shim the wastegate of your current turbo to gain some free and easy ponies.

Okay, just went into the garage and checked. The wheel does not appear to be damaged, and there is only a very little ( i mean barely, if any) movement from side to side. Again, I don't know if there is supposed to be absolutely no play at all, but this was very, very minuscule.

Quick edit: the car does not smoke at all

Just saw this! The turbo does sound good but if you want to get it done while you're in there you know who to PM!

Te72...where the heck did you get yours??

I just called PWR usa, and they have to get it directly from Australia. No big deal, I can wait...oh wait! it's $850.00!!! wtf.
I got mine from Horsepowerfreaks.com. Seems they no longer carry it though, I bought mine 4 years ago, it's been a while. From the sounds of it, I will be keeping it if they cost that much... I would still try calling HPF to see if they can maybe order one in for you. Might be worth your time to check with Driftmotion and Kaizen on here...

Okay cool, pm sent to Albert to try and get this show on the road.

Quick question. For those of you familiar with Gates cooling hoses, Upper rad. lower rad etc.

Are the hoses supposed to be...shorter?? I put the new vs. old side by side (oem vs Gates) and well, the gates definitely seems considerably shorter.

Idk if that's normal, but if someone can please chime in, it'd be appreciated.

Hmm, interesting..

I kind of don't have a choice but to try it :D

But still, that lower pipe definitely seems like it won't reach.

Also, the reason I'm speculating it is because I took my oem rad out because the fluidyne (yes, that's the one I decided to order) is on its way. So we shall see, hopefully soon. Was just curious if anyone had seen them be shorter than oem before.

P.s. I'm trying to source N/A Valve covers (no coil pack indent in them, due to me doing the c.o.p. mod soon.) once I receive them I'm going to bring them to a machine shop and see if they can make it so I can put AN fittings (like we discussed in previous pm's) on the valve covers for the catch can.

So in other words, a CC shall be purchased from ya soon.

When you bring the valve cover to the machine shop, bring the fitting for the AN size you are going to use to the machine as well. I assume you will use NPT thread on the valvecover side, have them tap it to the bottom, I have seen it tapped and there is a space left and it looks bad. :(

I'm sorry if this is easy to find, or common knowledge but, I did search, and didn't come up with much.. Does anybody make a tubular exhaust manifold for the stock ct-26? I would like to get rid of that constrictive stock manifold, especially while the turbo is already off.

I'd prefer to not go the eBay route.

Thanks guys/girls!

That's actually not bad, thought it would have been less than that.

But yes, I'm not going to deny, it would be for cosmetic as well as trying to squeeze all I can outta the ct

Edit: for that even though the stock mani can flow enough to around 600, a tubular manifold would still flow better than stock to help out what I'm trying to do no?

Just because it can work doesn't make something the best option. ;)

Ask Devin Leblanc on here about his manifold setup, he's done quite well with the CT setups.

I'm assuming it's stock mani?

Not gonna lie, a tubi would look pretty nifty (nice quality one of course)

I forget. I know it's an external wastegate... that's supposedly what made the biggest difference.

So, quick question. I have received my ct-26 softline kit and, it looks awesome.

Question is regarding the insertion of the part that goes into the block itself. I'm assuming some type of teflon tape or something? But instead of tape can i possibly use a tiny bit of lock-tite??

No!

You use a copper washer on the side that screws into the block. Tighten it down and be careful not to strip the threads. No loctite or tape needed.

Ohh interesting. The only reason i bring this up is because I had found a thread pertaining some what to this, and Aaron, the guy I bought the kit from, said something about some type of something to put on instead of tape.

But you say copper washer...hmmm!!!!
