Idk Ian they took it off in front of me 2 separate times:-/ they seem to think it just was a matter of the pump not getting wet.

Or maybe it would have gone with just 5 more minutes of cranking but they seem to be really honest and said its there mistake.

Also have not gave me one once of problem getting it fixed at no cost to me.

I usually pack Pumps with some light grease before installation, wonder if it was bone dry as I suggested earlier?

They said the same thing but I don't know if they did it with mine.

Who knows what the real issue was. It's just odd that after they pumped oil threw the system the first time that the pump didn't get wet and start working if this was the case.

Would all depend on "where" they were pumping it in, might have come up against the antidrainback valve and never made it as far as the pump Jordan!

The car is now making oil pressure on it's own with the starter !!! My question is how much oil pressure should i expect to see under idle/driving conditions/make oil pressure?

Car should be finished tomorrow and back into my hands to button up the rest.

Same as the 2JZ spec.

If they built it loosely, the oil pressure will reflect that.

What's the 2j spec ?

And you mean if they built it poorly? It built almost 40psi just from cranking with starter 4 times in a row and in my opinion the starter was not spinning the crank to quickly

If they built the motor with tolerances on the loose side, you will get lower oil pressure. When race motors are built, clearances are usually increased to take into account thermal expansion. The 2JZ spec is in the TSRM. 20-30 hot idle is what you will be around and you will exceed 100 near redline. Lastly, cold start up will be around 50-60.

So IJ, added heat doesn't make parts expand?

Yes and clearances are widened to also allow increase in oil volume around parts for lubrication and cooling, no?
