When you're holding a hose and said "it's sucking" which hose was that?

The hose IzzY was holding near the intake side was a hose he took and pushed up against the oil cooler/filter housing and he tried sucking through it.

Now when we had the oil Feed line off the turbo he could blow into that hose and you could hear air come out the feed line.

EDIT - don't think it matters but we don't have a Vacuum line hooked up to the PCV valve yet.

Well that sounds ass backwards... where is the Turbo feed plumbed to?
(sounds like the wrong side of the pump)

The 1JZ block has 2 Stock locations for the feed front and back we chose to use the front and blocked off the back one.

I don't think it mattered which way he blew into it. Air just moved freely. He could have taken the Oil feed line and blew into it and felt air come out the oil Filter housing and vise versa

Well when he said "it's sucking" that sounds like the Oil pump inlet, if you can then blow into that and it comes out the Turbo feed something is wrong...

try blocking the turbo feed and crank it.

What was said is "Try sucking" as in to try and help the oil come up to the oil filter. The oil feed was on and tight at that point.

Ahhh ok!! :)

guess you could fill the filter screw it back on then try and pump some oil down the Turbo feed line so it wets the pump.

Anti drainback valve in the filter might stop it though...

with out helping the system by blowing air into it or sucking air through it you can not feel any suction or pressure on either turbo feed or oil filter location

The car is also jacked up just a bit in the front. maybe if we set it on the level ground it could help.

how would i go about pumping oil into the small feed line?

I'd need to see an oil flow diagram for a JZ but I think the antidrainback will screw you, if you can find a filter without it you'd fill it screw it on the blow compressed air into the turbo feed, that will blow the oil in the filter back into the pump wetting it enough to create suction...

The machine shop fitted all the correct o-rings?

At this point i don't even know.

I gave them a brand new in box never opened pump + a full engine gasket kit that came with them. I told them to call em if they needed anything that i would find anything there missing or need.
