I had to take off maybe an inch off the wastegate tube on that Mani it also has to be angled so it doesn't hit the motor mount and so you can bolt it on.

I'm using the dm stage 2 clutch. 2800lb pp and 6 puck disc. I love it. Very street able and not very stiff but holds power.

Ok so i'm still lost on this wastegate situation kind of anyways..

Just Trying to be positive on what flange i should have welded on the manifold and the correct way to mount the wastegate also where to find a gasket for the square flange.

So here in this photo is the flange driftmotion uses on there manifold it matches the flange on the side of the wastegate (which i think is for the screamer pipe)

p1875404_1.jpg

In this photo is the other flange they include with the kit it matches the flange on the bottom of the wastegate (which seems to go to the manifold) Flange that does not come with gasket

p1875404_2.jpg

Here is the photo of everything that comes with my wastegate and you cane see the two different types of flanges but only one type of gasket.

Here is a link to the photo of the driftmotion Manifold with the flange welded on it.

I see why your confused. My experience and understanding is that the side where the valve sits (bottom) goes to the manifold the other side is the dump tube.

Either DM had the wrong flange welded on that manifold or it's a different wastegate with a similar flange? Could always call Arron to get a confirmed answer about the flange on that manifold.

I can't find a gasket for the bottom flange either :-(

You do not use a gasket on any, especially the fire ring (the bottom that seals the valve. That's why it has the tapered seat. It also puts the correct preload on the valve as well.
You don't need a gasket for the dump, unless your going to do recirc.

Thanks Steven much Appreciated

So the lip on the bottom flange seats around the ring on the bottom ? it's at the shop but if i recall correctly it only sat flush against the bottom if the lip was facing away from the wastegate (or lip welded to manifold another way to look at it) other wise it would not sit flush against the WG and be about 1/4 to 1/2 a inch of the WG surface but i did not try to bolt it closed yet either.

The flange that is a complete square goes on the manifold, and the little lip goes against the wastegate actuator. When you bolt it together it will push the valve in some and more or less make a seal, and put a little bit of a load on the actuator/spring. And you shouldn't need a gasket from what I remember doing anyway.

As for the head gasket it really depends on what kind of power your going for. That head gasket would hold a decent amount as long as the prep work was done properly and you use ARP hardware. However, since your investing alot into this motor already I personally would get an aftermarket full metal gasket. Its a good piece of mind :)

Stock head gaskets are fine. Throw your 7M mentality out the window.

Stock JZ gaskets are being used in 600-700-800HP cars without issues and even higher.....

When I get home today, I will check in my garage for that pipe for you.

What gasket are you having a hard time finishing?

So the last time i ws at Toyota i went ahead and ordered the 2JZ-GE/GTE water pump bypass pipe with the correct o-rings

In my search tonight to find a 1jz bypass pipe i was looking at photo's and trying to find the correct lengths for the pipes.

The pipe i currently have is 3cm or 1 1/8in can anybody tell me the length of the one i need for sure.
