Could you offer a stock TB too? Unless the Q45 is just bolt on and plug and play...
Then i'd go for that, but i dont like having to splice stuff together... bolt on is nice.

I can do stock TB but I need to have some flanges machined for them first.

Question.... How come no body has fabbed up a completely custom FFIM? I mean from the head up? Everyone seems to just take the stock runners, and weld up a new intake plenum to it. Wouldn't you see even bigger gains if you made the runners slightly larger, and longer?

Or maybe just porting the stock runners to flow better would be enough? I dont know a whole lot about this stuff, that just seems like it would be more beneficial.

I think its more cost, why change whats already good and proven? and its CHEAP.

but why are you focusing on a short runner when you have such support for a long runner???

49 for long and only 15 for short...
wouldnt you want to make something that people want????

My reason is simple. Economical. It would cost me much more to port match the unique intake design on the head. I do do a port to the runners though. You can only port so big And for more gains I recommend porting your head. But if we had round intake ports Id be all over that.

I will be starting work on a long runner design this week. No guarantees as to when I will have one done, but I am in the process of making one.

I know someone who managed to fabricate a drop down bracket for the alternator and the a/c pump so that a/c can be retained with a short runner.

He has a RR short runner.

He dropped the A/C pump 8 cm.

Nice I have thought about making one out of steel and using mandrel bends and having a die made to shape the ends, but alas most people don't like that idea.

Yea it doesn't fit the best because with it being so long and large it has to sit super tight to the fuel rail! Really not economical to build or mass produce at all....lol but sorry not trying to jack your thread just saw some one asking about a total custom manifold!

Let me know if you have any questions, mostly likely I have expienced it:biglaugh:

Thanks,
Seth

Help me understand:

Front facing manifold, apparently this helps air flow instead of making that hard, nasty turn, But sooner or later doesn't it have to make that turn at some point? The stock one goes at a gradual turn or more of an angle, how does the front facing manifold make it different??
