Not long at all George! I just got back from a trip around the block in it. The first half was a spit'nsputterin, backfiring mess, until it died. It acted as if it had blown off an IC hose. I got out and checked all of the loosely fit piping, and figited with a few other things. I talked with 3 different neighbors, and finally tried it again. I don't know what did it, but it ran like a champ from there.

I still have yet to figure out why the fuel pump starts pumping as soon as I connect the battery. I added a ground wire from the block to the frame during this round of work. That didn't help at all. This also causes the ECU to never have time to learn idle, so perfect running, it is still not.

They are Koni's and Eibach's with a coilover conversion kit. David sent me every receipt on the car that he had from him and the owner before him. There is a receipt for them at just under $1500. There was definitely a lot of money spent on this car, but a good bit of that was on the motor that I did not get.

Car is now running pretty good, and also has a freshly painted RED front bumper with no cracks (THANKS George!). I was going to try to go get it registered today, but never got enough time to try it. I want to take it out of my neighborhood, and get over 30 mph!

It's Import Face Off. I think I'm going to try and race my car if all goes well over the next couple of days.

Let me see what this next weeks brings. I first have to get it registered, and see what it does above 30mph. It definitely still needs some tuning, but it is doing much better than it was before.

I hope I can make it, but really doubt it from right now. I cranked it today, and it reverted back to backfiring and running like crap. I am going to re-check my timing tomorrow. It was so funny.......I had my dog outside with me when I cranked the car. He's like Milo, and is always there when I work on the car. But, after the first 2 backfires, I saw him take off towards the back fence. I found him about 1/2 mile down the road behind my house crapping on somebody's mail box post. I was going to go take some pictures of the car with a red front bumper, but it was getting dark by the time I found him.

It's looking better now, but for some reason, I can't get it to start anymore. I had hooked up the vacuum line between the EGR and the modulator wrong. I ran it to the nipple on the top of the EGR, instead of the small pipe coming from the EGR. Anybody know where the nipple on top of the EGR goes to?

On top of the modulator is a P and a Q. P attaches to a nipple off the lower right side of the intake and Q attaches to the top of the EGR valve itself.
