I got my wideband somewhat finished today. Much quicker than I thought I would. I got it all mounted up, and wired it in. I fired the car up, and the thing went through a series of 555,333,444,222,444,333,111 type numbers, than went to ---, and the sweeper was pegged out as far as it would go. I tried adjusting the NEO from -50 to +50 with no change in the gauge. I got a phone call, so I turned it off. When I came back, I noticed that the gauge was wired to a constant power, so I cut it loose. I will search for a better power source, and hope for a match.
did yo get this figured out or is it still at -- on the lean side i'm guessing.
you can tap into the radio, wiper, heated mirror, etc... fuses for power.
i'm pretty sure we have the same wideband and all it needs is power and ground.

I got the power and ground figured out. The power is on the cig lighter power, and ground is connected to a bolt in the steering column, where there is a good clean solid metal. It still acts pretty similar, but sometimes runs through the whole start up, and occasionally will give a few readings before starting over. Those readings are generally in the 14-17 area at low RPM

if it is starting over randomly, check the two harnesses on back of the guage or your connections, if it is loose, it will power cycle. mine does that if i pull on the harness. other than that, i assume it works well and you need a tune. if at idle, it is reading max lean, start playing with the NEO and confirm that you made adjustments on it until your AEM is right.

Noah, I've tried playing with the NEO with it, and it makes no difference. I need to probably chase some wiring on it again to verify everything is correct. This weekend, I have been a home body, and haven't touched the car. I have stitches in my hand from a pretty wicked cut. I wanted to work on my rear brakes, but figured it probably wouldn't be good. I have ruled out all other reasons for the car dragging, by fixing the coil pack. The brakes are needed anyway, but I no longer need to check the E-Brake, and rear end.

I hope you get your little problems figured out Scott and I hope it doesn't end up being a problem with your turbo. I paid a lot of money for the thing and it's our of warranty for sure now, but I'd still like to call the guy and give him a piece of my mind if something is wrong. Hopefully it's in the tune and not the turbo though.

Yay for boobies.

i still think if your wideband display is power cycling randomly, it is in the wiring, maybe not the power and ground, but in the harness that plugs into the back of the guage itself. you need to just push it in a little harder and make sure it is snapped.
remember, i am only about an hour away.
i doubt you may need new e-brake shoes

I'm not calling it bad yet Jay. The car runs 300% better with a good set of coils, but it is not yet perfect. It still breaks up a bit when I get into boost, so I do need a tune. And remember, so far, I'm just using the stock boost gauge.

Noah, I will get the wideband figured out next for sure. With funds tight, it will be the best thing I have for tuning for a little while.

did you get the wideband fixed yet?

Define fixed?????????????? I fucked it all up, if that's what you mean. I attempted several different times to get the calibration right, thinking maybe that was the problem. I got it to a point where it looked right, and it actually started to give different readings........just before the damn calibration screw fell through the gauge. It's stuck in there where it can only come out if I either break the warranty seal, or it comes back through the threaded hole (not happening). My home computer has been messed up for a couple of weeks, and just now got back to working. I'm going to PM Jayson about it to see if there is anything he can do for me.

Oh My God, Becky....Look at her Butt!

I HAVE EXORCISED THE DEMONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the timing straightened out, and the car feels like it has an awesome amount of power! I was in a rush, so I will have to put the timing light on it tomorrow. I'm about to go take it out of the neighborhood. So far it has not come out of 2nd gear, and it was in a pouring rain. All dry now. I'll report back later.

I'm instantly in love with this car now, but it still has a list of little bugs. First and foremost, my clutch needs adjusting. It's letting out at almost the end, and won't let me get over about 4-5 pounds of boost. That's OK, because I'm finding out just how smooth this car can be. And it still needs an alignment, some brake work, and power steering. I have been and will be almost as anal as Pete with this car, just not at the same pace obviously.
