I would not make it a blank plate.

To many questions of,

How big is the Q45 mounting pattern?
How big is the LSx mounting pattern? Bolt hole size.

Q45 and stang. Call it a day.

The problem with a flange like that is a 90mm opening will break into the q56 pattern. You will also be trying to open a 90mm into a hole much smaller to it would completely defeat the purpose of the large TB.

The flange that is attached to the TB will have a 90mm opening and a stang bolt pattern. We are going to have the adapter plate pretty much as you saw in the last post. It will bolt onto the "fixed" bolt pattern and go down to Q45

It will definently not be blank. Most people do not have access to a machine shop and using hand drills is not a real good way to drill a straight hole, tap straight and deburr so the TB will sit properly

Great!

That is unless you guys really want to field calls like I posted on #123 ;)

My ear is actually sore from taking calls just on basic info this week. Stang 90mm fixed flange pattern, adapter plate will be available for Q45 pattern. We know both the deminsions and if the end user wishes to make there own pattern know problem, we do not know the pattern for any TB besides the stang and Q45.

just a thought... but will there be an option for ceramic coating? all my manifolds are currently coated and i think it makes a big difference when they are.

Any provisions in development to adapt the OEM TPS to the 'Stang throttle body (I'm not certain if one already exist)? There is already a Greddy adapter for the Toyo' TPS to the Q45 TB.

We won't be doing any ceramic coating. The end user can but we don't really get into any of that here.
We will be offering a polished and non-polished version. The non-polished will keep it looking more like stock.

The TPS will be figured out when I put the mock up in my car...it will be addressed though!

Jack,

Do you have any section pictures inside the surge tank?

Also:

I'd like to learn more about shell casting, as it's something I've never done.

Will you guys be making a silica pattern for the negative space, and then applying a 3/16" coating of foam/wax, then coating in ceramic... then pour?
Any detail would be great, and when it's ready to pour I'd love to make a trip out there and check it out at the foundry.

Just a question regarding this FFIM (and generaly all the FFIM for the MA70)

Would this maniflold fit the right hand drive?

I'm asking this question for the throle cable.
Does a RHD need a specific/custom made one or not?

my question may be stupid but i don't know how it is made on LHD MK3

if it may helps, here's a pic of my RHD car's throlle cable

OK

Just thought I would get an update out. Greg had back surgery this morning which is a 5 hour surgery. He is doing good but will be in the hospital about a week.

I have another guy cleaning up our FFIM drawing and should be done with it in a couple days. Once he is done it will be printed and fit, if it all comes out like it should we will build the tooling.

I will post up the most current design on wednesday. I have our SS laptop at the hospital so I can check posts and use the LIVE HELP on the website. I will not be able to answer phone calls until Wed at the earliest. Orders are still shipping just REALLY early in the morning.

FYI for those of you who have met Greg imagine him with a morphine drip that he has the button in his hand...Very funny stuff a few minutes after he hits it a few times

I belive the RHD and LHD use the same stock TB or it's located in the same spot. The stock cable setup will be adapted to work with our FFIM so the RHD setup should work just fine

tb is in the same location for both, but lhd use's the bellcrank set-up and the cable is very short.the rhd has the throttle cable go straight to the tb,but most likely won't be long enough to reach your mani's tb.

This is looking very promising and I hope it all goes through well. This is an important topic for us 7M guys!

I would personally rather have a longer runner design, but I understand that implementation of fitment of this would add complexity and fitment would be even more of an issue.

I would also like to try ITBs, but getting it to actually fit and work could be a disaster! Certainly not worth it.

I wish my student edition of SolidWorks hadnt expired. I'd ask for the file so I could view it and maybe mess with it :p

Also, what is the volume of the intake plenum?

This is badass. There have been way too many good threads lately that will probably take my money in the near future. I can see this being yet another.
