not to mention the RSR is probably the loudest of the main brands, with the Blitz nur spec a close second...

as already mentioned, backpressure doesn't exist, it's velocity and the scavenging effects of it...

The downpipe, and really more importantly the elbow are the worst restrictions (especially if the first cat on the DP is clogged), and will see the best gains IMHO.

The reason for the question about if you're on the stock HG is that these mods will up the boost and quickly take out a stock HG...

I don't think he has figured out what a money pit he has gotten himself into yet...but if ya got it, spend it lol. :biglaugh:

If you want a quiet deep rumble go with BIC RDDP and 3.5 BIC Thunder w/ resonator. WOT sounds beastly but you can still drive past 5.0s no problem.

why pay the BIC price when you can get the china man replica for half the cost???
and buy the ETS 3.5 system, its stainless steel, BIC uses aluminized mild steel... which means it'll rust from the inside out. AND ETS will put whatever muffler you want on the back, just make sure you call and talk to them first.

just my opinion i guess...

The HKS turbo exhaust is 3" and quiet. Technically, it is 75mm. The muffler is straight through, not baffled. Don't confuse it with the sport exhuast for naturally aspirated, or the Dragger. The turbo exhaust is very effective. It works.

Maybe because a lot of us are sick and tired of supporting China copiers...these low prices have a cost. One you can't seem to see.

BIC's stuff is quality...the Chinese made exhausts are a crap shoot. I've seen the Chinese stainless manifolds and downpipes crack from the cheap steel they use. If rust is a concern, get it ceramic coated (the inside too like it should be done) and it will never rust...the decrease in thermal heat radiation is well worth the cost.

Of course, IJ was right, you're such a tight ass you crap diamonds (surprised you're not trying to sell them). Cheap is going to turn around and bite you one of these days.

Just my opinion ;)

China = crap... yes thats true, but there have been several people who run them and they are fine, one of my friends has one, it looks fine, performs fine and everything else...

im not one for chinese SS manifolds, so i dont know about that, nor have i researched it at all.

im not trying to be cheap, its cost effective, i dont have all this money to just throw at the supra right now, im unemployed, trying to get a job, and rebuilding a supra, its a pretty tough combo. If IJ has a problem with how i spend my money, thats his opinion...

China wouldn't have all that manufacturing if more Americans thought that taking half of somebodies income was fair and just.

My opinion too ;)
You can say what you want, just so long you don't trash up any more sales threads with your smack talk about pricing.

It's also my opinion that the people that own this car can't really afford it and end up going cheap. The car suffers as a result...it's no wonder the Mk IV guys look down their noses at a Mk III. Maybe you'd be better off owning a Civic.

The Chinese stuff is crap and as long as it's being purchased, it will continue to flood the market. You can support this if you wish, but you're going to get what you pay for. Or, you can buy from a place like BIC...a guy that prides himself on craftsmanship and stands behind what he sells. That's called "value" and you'll be supporting continued supply of quality aftermarket parts at a fair price.

Get a flex section in your downpipe... your engine will last longer if you lower your car, as that your exhaust will move independantly from the engine.

On a turbo car, the turbine housing is all the backpressure wive's tales could ever need. 3" exhaust is perfect until you start making enough horsepower to make the energy required to keep exhaust gases moving through a 3.5-4" diameter pipe... usually in excess of 500rwhp.

If people stopped buying cheap chinese parts, perhaps they'd improve their quality in order to compete with well-made north american parts. Also, if people bought well made north american parts, our economies would be stronger and our cars would be faster and last longer.

You get what you pay for.

There's a rule of thumb that's been around for a long time.

Cheap.
Reliable.
Fast.

Pick any two. We all know you're picking cheap, so which of the other two are you ignoring?

IMO, attempting to build a Supra on a shoestring budget is a path to heartache.

Furthermore, have you actually thought through the results of what you are promoting?

What will happen if everyone starts buying the cheap copy? First of all, BIC will go out of business, because nobody will be buying his parts. Nice reward for all the R&D work he put into the community, huh? This means no more quality parts on the market, no new R&D, because that would just be copied and promoted by you as well.

Add to that the fact that you are voting with your $$$, saying that price is more important to you than anything else. If enough people do this, ALL the manufacturers will drop their quality control to offer lower prices. What does this mean to you? Well, you'll need to spend less money to buy anything, but you'll have to do it more often. Everything you own will either be brand new, or falling apart - or maybe both.

What ever happened to building something that will stand the test of time?

You're welcome to buy the Chinese copies if you must. You're welcome to refrain from bathing to save on the cost of water and soap, for that matter. However, it's not something you should be proud of.

That problem is my benefit ;)

I'm buying a piece of pipe that makes my car loud and faster. If I bought something that mattered, say: injectors, fuel pump, and/or a fuel pressure regulator from eBay/Chinaman, then there's reason to complain.

Am I a bad person because I buy Safeway brand instead of Coke/Pepsi? It tastes the same. The exception is the bagged cereal... man that crap is gross!

How is it not my benefit anymore? I paid $225+shipping for a DDP.

I couldn't care less if he has no integrity, not my issue. But how am I not benefiting from it now?

Just off the top of my head, if you keep pimping his product, and lots of your FRIENDS from the COMMUNITY go to him to buy something, and he SCREWS them, like he has other members here, you will find your reception here gets rather cold.

Seriously, dude, WTF? Would you send your friends to a restaurant that gives people food poisoning? Would you recommend a bank that stole money from your neighbor? I'd really like to see any justification that makes sense here.
