well i would like to smack the hell outta the kid i got mine from. when i got the car it had th 1ggte swap in it it had been recently done done clean under the hood except a few little things. the inside however was different my gauges are rhd so they dont fit right, the speedo doesn't work, the heat had a short in it and if you turned it on while the car was driving it would die. the pwr mirrors dont work, the interior light dont work, the horn was gone the steering column came from a rhd car so my light switch and wiper switch is all backwards, there was a hole cut in the center console with a 3 in. boost gauge in it. the front end had a 7 in gap between the fender and the wheels, no spoiler a 2 in exhaust with a 3 in cannon silenced and the clutch was worn out. also the steering is f'ed up. you can turn really far to the left but only about half way to the right. other than that it was ok.

i was just glad i got it away from that kid. i think i got an ok deal for $900 i love my car even though she's a bitch sometimes. oh yeah and the battery had a draw on it and it would die evry day , and the hood would pop up on its own while driving. sorry so long of a post. lots of probs hehe!

Second owner, responsible for most of the mods but he let the HG go out.

o_O Do I get mad at him?--No; do I flip off his house and curse his family when I drive by his house?--YES!

The guy I bought it from was...mechanically disinclined, yes that sounds nice. He thought his oil pressure gauge, was how much oil was left in the motor, so he thought he'd change it at 0. Needless to say it locked up on him and it's totally siezed. I pulled a spark plug and found about 2 1/2" of oil just sitting, the crank won't even turn, etc...

Fortunately, the inside is nearly immaculate, and the outside is great for it's age--it's a '90 Turbo. Oh, and he kept the original targa tool also! The only major body defect, is where he used some substance--looks like a LOT of Elmer's wood glue--to put the "side skirt" piece back on that sits in front of the driver's door but behind the front wheel-well.

All in all, I got a good deal at $1000+$38 to tow it and I'm looking at around $1300 for a JDM motor. :D

hmm, well my car is now a 3 owner car... a couple wierd things (strange trigger button behind the cover under the glove box... and a bunch of wiring...) bought it with a blown head gasket, rear brakes where shot, front right caliper is now seizing.... interior is a little grimy (fixing it.. new carpet and leather seats soon.. everything else is good)... hmm, engine bay is fairly good, had a nice stereo installed professionaly, all sony stuff... speaker pods from a 89+ in the back of the car, nice +.... hmm... nothing really mechanically wierd... most of it's from age... my hood is stained some how, like water spots... and looks like something was brushed against it or something. Sawblades are on backwards, and one side set are fubard from curb rash. Other than that it's pretty good... motor is coming out in a bit after interior and paint work is done so basically I wanted a rust free shell that would get me around for a couple years before I do my build!

When I think of how far my car has come I can do nothing but smile. :icon_razz

That is EXACTLY how I look at it. Day by day. When I'm getting out of my car; When I'm walking out to my car, I can't help but to turn around and stare at it and think, "I'm a good guy. I'm a good guy.:icon_surp I saved this Supra. :icon_razz " And although the guy I bought the car off of was a VERY nice and cool guy and at least knew his stuff, he didn't treat the car like it needed to be treated. I still keep intouch with the guy (3 hours away) and I'm waiting for a few more things before I send off some pictures to him to show him how much the car has changed...because believe me, it's been through a lot. :naughty:

Off topic...

Bloke. Lad. :icon_bigg $10 bucks says I could've guessed where you were from with no hints. :naughty: LOL. Anyways, yeah, that's a shame. I've got a couple friends that their ABS light just stays on and they never bother to do anything about it. Well, I don't think my ABS is even active...:icon_conf Never lights up, never HAS lit up, and my wheels lock up when I'm in snow...

Yes and No... the person who sold it to me sold it as it was when he received it... I'm more mad at the previous owner...

Plumbing check-valve as a BOV ... lol
Autozone battery smaller than a a Civic's ....
Straight-pipe exhaust that was loud... as heck...
Rice-rocket HAYAMI pedal covers... I took them off, but the rubber pedal covers are worn to heck. I actually need to find a decent set of grip/slip pedals.
Re-routed starter switch... pain to reach since I'm a fat-arse ^_^
Oil-drenched factory carpet on the driver side, oil stains all over the cargo area factory carpet...

Aside from that, I got the car for a steal! Too bad it would have run almost the same as just getting a "perfect" condition one haha

I really dislike the prvious owner of my car! everytime I turn around I find some more dumb shit he has done!! The latest thing that I have gotten around to fixing is the three piece wing. My car was not supposed to have one, but for some reason he had to have one!! I hated driving around with 2 third brake lights. (One in the hatch and one on the wing!!) The stereo was very poorly installed so it took about a week to figure out what he had done!! He already had a pacestter header installed but instead of extending the 02 sensor wire properly he just grabbed wire laying around and twisted the ends together an there was only about 4 bolts holding the header on!! I really dislike him!!

Fortunately I have no complaints. The (alleged) old lady who owned it kept it in great condition, garaged, and mint waiting for me to come along. Then I ditched the slightly aging 7m-ge and havent looked back.

Other personal car however, I can not agree more about the lack of detail and care given to it.
