Another episode is released!
In this episode we're continuing with what I think are the last nasty pieces of my car, the drive axles!
They need to get sandblasted to remove all the rust, paint, new grease and new boots before they are ready to go back on my supra!

The next big thing to take care of around the hub area are the actual axle hubs. We can't leave them looking rusty and nasty while everything else gets to look very nice. So in this episode we are getting the axle hubs looking good. The first and biggest step towards this is of course sandblasting!
Have a look in this episode and see the big transformation!

As many of my recent episodes are about me sandblasting parts I'm trying to add in some other areas. So this episode is about the stock fuel line hangers and front brake shields.
The hangers will be replaced by the ones I'm 3Dprinting but I need to verify the space they are mounted in.
The second thing for the episode are the front brake shield as the rear ones almost got finished in the last episode.
These will get modified to suite the brake discs.

In this episode I'm taking some important measurements that are needed for the ABS sensor retrofit. We need to make sure how much space we have to work with. I also need to take these measurements before the stock ABS sensor is going bye-bye! I need to remove the remaining ABS sensor so that I can move forward with the upright (steering knuckle in TSRM) renovation. I'm keeping the un-smashed sensor in its place and the sensor I'm punching out is the one I smashed before. This way I still have a reference and a spot to try new alternatives in. After taking the measurements I can move forward with preparing for paint!

The work with the steering knuckles or front uprights or front hubs continues. Since these are cast from factory they have a surface that is quite coarse which is not really good when you want to avoid dirt and moisture which will lead to rust. The best surface is polished. Should I polish and clearcoat the steering knuckles? :D It would look cool but nicer in paint I guess :) Anyway, I will try and even out the surface with rotating files and after that sandblast them. The sandblasting will give a great surface which the paint can adhere to.
