Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
As the work is progressing with the front hubs we need to keep up with the rear hubs as well which we are doing today.
It might seem like an never ending story and believe me, I feel that, but it's the last few percent of progress that take the longest.
I want to be as thorough as possible as I don't want to redo this in 10 years. I was just as thorough with the stock brake calipers and as you can see in other episodes, they held up fine for more than 10 years!

I'm also getting a little bit side tracked as I help my friend with separating his gearbox and engine as well as putting the engine on an engine stand. This was before he decided on his Honda engine swap and also the first time he did anything like this. I was able to record his thoughts on this, why don't you listen in on that? :)

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
In this episode one of the rear hubs comes so close to painting that I can smell it! One of the biggest eyesores are the dust deflectors. One adjustable plier later and the dust deflectors be gone!
But you have to agree that with that gone and fresh out of the sandblaster, it does look really nice!?!?

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
In this episode the other rear hub come extremely close to the painting stage! The dust deflector is removed just like the other rear axle hub in the previous episode and we are going one step further and manage to getting some pieces of bushing out! Also, it looks soooo clean in its sand blasted finish!

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
In this episode we're finally getting the bushings and bearings out! The latest episodes have been leading up to this monumental step. This marks the position in time that the rear axle hubs have reached the bottom, nothing else needs to be taken off! Everything from now on will be about building up to the final part that is ready for installation on my Supra!

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
After all the wins in the last episode we are taking it a little bit easy today. But there are many things to consider moving forward and since it's a bit hard capturing the ideas on video, I try to describe them. So we are talking about the procedure of pushing out the front bearings and also why I try and leave as much in as possible around the remaining ABS sensor.

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
We only have a few parts left to prepare before we can do some painting. The brake shields which gets a mix of dirt, rust, brake dust etc over the years are not really fun to clean and the rust is really on there. I still also need to modify one of the front brake shields for the new brake discs. I can't remember what it was but I was angry and/or sad on this day almost a year ago so when my friend arrived at the garage it was easier for me to tag along on his car stuff for a bit. He had a broken stud, one of the ones that hold the rear subframe to the body of the car on his Nissan S13. Instead of doing the quick and dirty weld solution we opted for the more proper solution. The old stud is getting drilled out as that will keep the splined end and a good way of centering the new screw. The new screw is a high quality threaded rod (actually meant for holding ATMs to the floor). So here we are starting on drilling out the stud. Bigger drills are required before they are ready to be installed on his car.

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
Before getting to far with the hubs I need to get them measured so that I can make CAD drawings of them. The CAD drawings is first of all for fun of doing and second for the possibility to create my own aftermarket parts!

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
We are continuing with measuring the hubs. To make things easier I've bought some measurement tools dedicated to the garage so I don't have to search for them.

What kind of parts are you attempting to make?
sorry for the late reply. It's more about having the possibility down the road, while having the full geometry. But I have a few brake setups that I would like to explore which will be easier in CAD than IRL. ABS speed sensor adapters, brake ducts and some steering stuff.
I started on this "turn my supra into CAD" project back in 2008 when I had it apart the first time, so it's been taking some time :)

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
In order to get the new brake discs to fit, we need to turn down the lip of the front hubs. But to get them up in the lathe, we need to remove the stock wheel studs. Which I did not want to do until I had my new ARP wheel studs at home, which I do now, so let's take the stock studs out!

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
In the last episode we started on getting both new front brake discs to fit on my Supra. We are continuing on that today by modifying the brake shields and turning down lips. I will take advantage of the lathe and turn down the lip on the axle hub so that it will fit inside the new brake disc. The brake shield is also hitting the brake disc so we need to modify that and I'm trying to be smart about it. The next thing are the inner bearing races which needs to be removed, have a look and see how that goes!

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
It's time to remove the last old thing from the old hubs, the wheel bearings! More specifically, removing the inner wheel bearing races.
I've been dreading this as it can be quite tricky. All pullers does not work and some times you just have to cut them off. Have a look and see how this goes for me!

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
After removing the inner wheel bearing races in the last episode (missed it? Go Watch It!) it's time to clean up the axle hubs in the lathe! We have to surfaces to look at, the surface which is underneath the bearing race and the surface which the lip of the seal is in contact with. Have a look and see how that goes!

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
I wasn't happy with what I had recorded for episode 169 originally so I made this instead. The reason is that I don't want to feed any incorrect information out there in case my theory doesn't work. I'm also developing a bolt-on solution. Listen in and make some comments!

This must be it? Right? Can the spindle hubs get any cleaner?!? I don't think so. Why don't you have a look and tell me in the comment section if this is enough?

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
This is it! This is finally it! Something is finally getting painted!!!!!! We are starting with the axle hubs and the brake shields. The axle hubs have a few areas which is only getting primer from a rattle can and all the rest will get the Foliatec brake caliper paint that I've successfully used since 2006 So you can imagine that I'm happy with this paint. The only thing that have changed is the color.

Hello, I have uploaded another video about my Supra mk3!
We are moving forward with the painting! Since I don't have the right rear upright we are only painting 75% of the uprights and 100% of the brake shields. I'm using the Foliatec brake caliper paint which I've been using on all my projects since 2006. The color used today is the circuit grey.
