Hey there

it seems to me that you do such a quailty job

Thumbs Up!!!

I had to read the whole thing twice to remember everything
If I catch it right it is going to be a race car?
Tha battery tray looks cool -but this way you will not use your trunk am I right?

After rust repair and fixing everything what is the route?

Is the engine ok?Works without issues?(sorry but you have so many info in this thread that I cant remember what the engine situation is?)

We did almost the same with mine we even had to chop off the upper end of mine --we found so many rust -but we build it up and it came along very nice
Mine is an almost fully stock daily driver now

if you have some time check my buildthread it starts with the rust repair --she had rust at the same places like yours

I really like your thread and thanks a lot for sharing it with us...

i am curious about your plans with your engine and your future plans for more power,so if you have some time share some info about it

Good luck with your new grinder it looks fantastic

keep us posted

it is so fun to follow

Thank you very much! I really appriciate it.

This is going to be a street/race car. Me and a friend got our hands on a Porsche 924 which will be a all out race car. It's already primered, brackets are gone, all sound dampening is gone. So I don't have to turn the supra into a all out race car.
In the beginning I will have a full interior which will be til it's time for a cage, then I will have to do some comprimising.

Thank you :) I will still be able to use the trunk. That is why I lowered the floor a little.

When the body is painted (undercarriage and inside) I will continue with the suspension parts (sandblast, reinforcement and paint) and after that I think the supra will be
back on its wheels :)
But it will go back in the air quickly to get an new exhaust, IC pipes, IC, oil system and maybe some other goodies.
Hopefully I can drive it after that and turn it into a rolling project for the remainder of the summer season.

The engine is working good :) It has been serviced according to the papers I got with it. I will change some service parts before I drive it, like timing belt and so on.
The plan is to rebuild the engine next winter.

I have read your thread several times :)
You have done some impressive work on your supra.

I have been using Megasquirt 2 pcb 3 since 2006 so the plan is to install a Megasquirt 3 in my supra. I have also experiance tuning other systems like Nira, DTA and VEMS.
And I'm constantly tuning my turboed mazda which has my MS2.

No, thank you for looking :)

Thank you!

Hehe thank you very much for thinking of me :) But I'm afraid your late, I just got those parts today which todays update is about (soon to be written).
But what is that brown/yellow/white part in the middle in the second pic for?

If you see anything else I might need, please let me know.
Thanks!

Ok, now I know :)
I think I will hold off on welding that til I'm removing the AC and installing a cage so that there won't be any more fires.
So I'm putting that on the list.
Is there anything you would recommend me to weld? :)

Today I took a trip to a fellow Swedish supra owner to take a look at his build
and to see what spare parts that he could sell to me.
I got back with everything around the steering wheel and ignition that got damaged by
the fire, an undamaged door molding (passenger side) and mounting parts for the fuel
tank which are in working condition. The mounting parts needs some work before I can use
them but that is a better starting point compared to mine.

Today I removed the casings for the bushings and the remaining part of a sway bar link from
one of the front lower arms.
I also finished the reinforcement beam on the right side and started on the left side.
The beam was a lot more crushed on the left side so I had to remove more from it to gain
access to rust it was covering.

I just had time for a small visit to the supra today.
But the beam is ready for rebuilding. I will reuse the parts I removed, just clean them
and straigthen them out.

Haha I would be too :) But there are positive sides of this. I feel that the car grows on me more when I get to do all this work. I think that I will be happier when it's time to turn the key compared to if I only had to change the spark plugs. And I will also know all the ups and downs with this car. Neither my turbo-mazda or my supra doesnt see or wont see snow and salt after all my work with them so hopefully I don't have to redo this during my lifetime :)
Thanks for looking!

LMAO it's really "cute" that you seem to believe that :runaway:

These cars are a never ending project.

I'd love a car I just had to feed plugs each year!

hehe well thats how I feel and have felt with my other cars and one of them is an never ending project.
Just to clarify, I meant that I will appreciate it more since I'm doing this from the beginning instead of just needing to buy it, replace the plugs and then drive. I think I then would prefer my turbo mazda more because of all the time I have put into it.

The work continues with the beam.
I also did some stuff with the rear subframe since it's sitting beside the car with rust and dirt
which is a bit depressing. So I used the wire wheel and then some rust eater (which stayed on too
long). But I feel better when looking at it now and it will be a little bit easier to sandblast
it when the time comes.

They do grow on you :)

Had mine since 97 and there are very few untouched bolts anywhere on it so I know what you mean just that a factory stock car is nice now and again!

I noticed that from the first drive in it....my plan was to use the drivetrain and suspension on another car :icon_redf but I fell in love with my supra  and the plan was changed.

We have some factory stock cars in the family and as you say, those are nice now and again but most of the time I while driving one of those I dream about driving one of my projects :)

The work continues with the beam and it's not far from completed.
Just need some grinding and then it's done for paint.
I also cleaned of the subframe another time to make it look even better.
