Rob - if you don't mind me using that elbow that would be perfect. Sean's DP is a full 3", mine has that crappy 2.5" inlet. Having that wideband hooked up will really help out with diagnosing my richness.

I can just go down to SupraSport next time I'm home in Stillwater (more MN Supra guys - woot!) and get a 3" Elbow then, and call it a day.

Figgie - think you'll have your car all ready to rock by next spring? We need an MN meet, I think Minnesota Supra owners are finally coming out of the woodwork :icon_bigg

Minnesota party!!! Emilio where are you from in Stillwater? I live just a few min away from suprasport... like maybe 2 minutes in West lakeland. Tough luck i see you are having with your car... I know the feeling! Hope all is going well now under that snow pile.

At the moment I'm going to school in St. Cloud, but I'm from Stillwater originally. I live right next to the prison, only about two miles away from Suprasport - so we must be really close by. We should see if we can get a SupraSport meet together some time :icon_bigg

I probably should have mentioned that - the whole car working again. :icon_bigg

It seems to be running really well right now, it runs great and had no problems cruising down the highway. I'm going to be working out some more details on the car over the next couple weeks. Mostly cleaning the engine bay and making my exhaust that little bit less ghetto. I'll try to get pics up as soon as time allows.

Just a quick update - I drove it regularly for the first time in our 8 inches of snow blizzard. It seemed to do alright - but damn it wouldn't stay straight. I promise I'll get some pictures out when possible. I need to do stupid shit like change the oil and fix up the exhaust now...

Rob is probably the only one what will read this, but I should probably drop an update of some sort on here anyway - I drove it again in decently warm weather, and after sitting awhile idling it seems to STILL burn oil. Sean and I tore into the head and started replacing valve seals with OEM Toyota ones. The ones on there were still nice and new feeling, and didn't have any tears, but we did find some nasty black rubber rings inside the valves that disintegrated and broke when we fished them out. I still have to get around to getting the cams in and all the timing together, which is a real bitch with both school and work happening. I'm starting to become a bit concerned that the block is cracked or there's some fundamental problem with the engine, but who knows.

I'll keep it updated...

Tonight after we get back from St.Joe lets get this bad boy running I have $20 on it not burning oil after those seals. Those rubber bits make sense to me why it would burn oil like a pyro maniac with a few cases of oil under vacuum conditions. With are passing under the valves and creating a suction effect I can definitely see it sucking up oil from the bottom of the seals and into the combustion chambers.

So lets get this bad mofo running and then start attacking the rust on it. I think we can still save this one Emilio.

$20 eh? I'll just pay it back to you for the help once it's running :icon_razz

Fingers crossed that's it - but you can see why I'm disheartened after almost 3 years of this. And don't worry I will help out around the shop more as well once it's running. I'll maybe even let you kick my door.

I'll put $10 that is works and $10 that is dosent, that way it is win, win. JK I would put my cash on working since i dont want to jinks it. But Im with Sean, that hard crap that was in there shouldn't here been and wasn't or isn't helping it out. :also crossing fingers:

Did you get all of that oil out of your intercooler pipes? That could be another source of the burning oil. Get the pipes and intercooler flushed, that might help the problem.

I really need to get some friggin' pictures but I have an update. I've been working on getting stuff together and getting all those little bits that have dropped off over the years back on the car. I've started getting the stock heat shields back on, installed the transmission mounts (they were missing), ordered a new CPS cover from Toyota, and removed the downpipe.

There were like two hangers total hanging the exhaust on, and it flops around like crazy. I hopefully will get that tightened up, but for now all I've done to the exhaust is get the downpipe off and weld on an O2 bung for my AEM wideband.

Well tonight I got all the heat shields for the exhaust and turbo together, and the CPS on the right tooth, and also installed the downpipe with the bung and attached the AEM UEGO wideband. It certainly runs crazy rich, idling around 13-14, and would fall off to 10 (the lowest the gauge reads) when given a bit of gas.

It's also throwing a code 51...

One of the next things on the list is to get a new lower intercooler pipe, the current one is crappy and certainly could be leaking.

well 13-14 isnt to bad for idle, IIRC we want around 15 on idle. but to spike rich once to open up the TB ummm..... But we can take 51, it is a easy fix. I just took care of mine. It is just time consuming, with the feeler gauges and once tighting the screws on the TPS it moves a little so I just did little by little with my multimeter pluged into my TCCS so I could watch it. If anything we can take care of 51 today after we get the rear end in Dan's car. I have LOTS of time on my hands now to turn wrenches on supras ;)

That would be awsome if we kicked out the 51 today - hopefully I can work on Dan's car but right now I have a couple friends from Stillwater visiting and I need to make sure to be a good host first, you know how it goes.

So I think once we get all the issues ironed out mechanically...

You should definitely let me rock that door that you are replacing. Of course with its guts removed and such as to not damage anything important. When I have my car done and running and Dans car up and running I will help you do the rust repairs and replace the rust with new steel.

Maybe some time this week when Im not wrenching on the supra we can get the 51 hammered out. Tomorrow I will be heading down with Dan to dyno the 2jz som maybe after that, since I will already be in Cloud I can stop by the shop to take care of it. To make things eaiser for me, if you have time, remove the glove box and liner so I can plug my meter into the TCCS ;)
