JJ: Thanks for posting!

I have no hard data to support my stance it's just one of those things I've always done as I consider Oil and Filters to be cheap disposible components.

When I switch over to the Synthetic I'll be reassessing my change intervals.

jetjock works for the used engine sellers association (*who is behind all JDM and domestic used motor sales) as well as the engine rebuilders association, and works part time assembling shortblocks for toyota.

so i can say without a doubt he has no alterior motives :icon_bigg

JJ, that was a huge post! LOL.

It makes sense though. I will still stick with my OEM filters. It just feels right...I dont feel good walking down Isle 8 in wal-mart pickup up an oil filter for my ( 3 months away) 450hp motor.....

Again, my main goal with this thread was to show the actual quality of the reloaction kit itself! Many, if I may take the words from JJ, misconceptions and myths do surround the "ebay item".......I have honestly had nothing but greatness from the products I have purchased through ebay...key word "THROUGH".

So many people think as though EBAY itself makes the parts and sells them...gets on my last nerve.:icon_razz

Anywho. Just thought I would add that.

I am probably next weekend going to get some fittings and hose for the reloaction kit.

Lagged: LOL only Ulterior motive I could see was if JJ was a mad Greenie and wanted to stop me using too much Oil! ;)

Siman: Have you decided on a Cooler yet?
(The remote adaptor parts look nicely made)

You going AN fittings and braided hose on it all?
(damn expensive if you are)

IJ, I dont cheap out on the important stuff now! LOL

I am going to price out some Aeroquip and Earls lines this week. Then go to my local plumbing shops and see what I can do there.

I wish you guys could feel the WEIGHT of this baby! Its like a solid 3lbs of Aluminum! Not cheap!

IJ, what color do you think I should get my fittings in? Pink?:greddy:

You need to colour coordinate the fittings for sure!

Maybe a nice Violet or Puce !:greddy:

There are a few Mk3/7M areas I wouldn't cheap out in Fuel and Oil are right at the top!

I'm using plain black oil rated hose by Parker that's easily within the spec of a car oil system temp and pressure wise.

Only 2 AN/Braided lines on my motor are Turbo in and out as the correct AN fittings were easier to source here and the GrpA Pan already had a -12 fitting.

My lines are going to be big. I want increased oil line copacity AND pressure ( which both are going to happen!).

The new cooler itself I am going for is probably a Perma-cool or B&M. Either way it will be BIGGER than stock and cool better ( hell the stock cooler is BLACK from Toyota...how smart was that?).

I was thinking a mauve' IJ.....and add a little metal flake?:naughty:

1/2" lines are fine as long as you keep the 90 degree bends to a minmum.

I like my B&M Cooler (It's black)

If you go AN Fittings they're 2 piece so you could have 2 colours with flake on one and pearl on the other!

Please excuse my ignorance, but what's the purpose of the N/A oil block filter adapter in your setup?

And maybe if IJ is still watching this thread, he could perhaps suggest somewhere in Aus that sells a relocation kit like this? ;)

well the reason is simple really

Cast for the permacool v. machines aluminum for the ebay one.

1/2 lines? good lordie and here i am using -12 AN liine for the oil and oil cooler!!

btw

For stock type application i would defiently use a canton Mecca spin on filter and be done with it. Good to 8 microns too.

this is what I built

90° ROTATING BILLET REMOTE OIL FILTER ADAPTER #22-595

Canto Mecca Super Filter
Icore -12 AN nomex hose
Mocal 16 row Oil cooler
Canto Oil Thermostat

and that is it :)

cost is extra ordinary but to take a line from Jurasic Park.....Spare no expense :)

group a supra

SPAWNING AN INTERCEPTOR
well not wanting to sound like an ass hat but just because i was going to install the kit you said you run -12 lines which is cool i would like to do the same but the adaptor plate to the block says it has 1/2" outlets which would be -8 did you convert it via an adaptor or bore a bigger thread to accomodate the - 12 lines
