I'm looking over the GEMU (mmm acronyms) instruction manual and it appears they still have the same application I copied for the Eman blue (3000GT). It also looks like the same wire color scheme was used so as far as wiring goes the GEMU and GEMB are identical.
Wish I had time these days to fiddle with one. I'd be interested to see how well the new features work with the 7m. Really it just depends on how similar the 3000GT KV AFM signal is to our own, or at least if it's on the same ratio. Could also try to find another KV AFM based car with a similar signal to our own, that application may work better.

Question..... since apparently you should be able to remove the AFM.... in order to be able to tune with the GEMU even further, would it require a wideband 02? Or could you at least use one since the stock unit sucks for tuning?
you want a wideband 02 for any tuning if you ask me, you can't tune if you don't know where you are at

i would probly go emu rather than map ecu as the emu adjusts injectors directly where map ecu i believe is adjusted via airflow

I stopped being interested in the GEMU when I found out my E-01 would no longer interface with it. (I have the blue GEM and E-01, and it works, but I'd like to get rid of the AFM, and have the ability to "auto tune" based on AF's which I think is a much better way to go than fooling with +/- percentages across 256 points.... Too much of a fudge factor there for me since I HATE TUNING.) That being said, my last dyno pull resulted in a nice flat 11:1 AF as soon as the boost came into the picture.. A little rich, but safe. I think if the computer was watching the system via WB, I'd be willing to push this up to 12:1 at WOT/Boost and get some better power out of the motor.
Another one I'd like to try is leaner operation at cruise conditions with no load. (If there is a hill, or headwind, then the throttle position would change over to indicate a load, and the AF would return to 14.7:1 like normal.) Better fuel economy would be nice, especially since I have coatings in this motor that in theory should allow lean operation with no damage to any parts.

well... as i said earlier on in this thread i don't see why it wouldn't work as you can pretty much select the options, i.e. 2jz - 3.0, map or afm, group fire ignition, injectors then you can tune in
i'm not sure if it's that easy but someone like dr. j or bishop pls go buy one and see if it will work

when you choose 2jz you can only change airflow map to certain engine types
so it seems doing it that way is out
when you choose 6g72 you have a few maps to change to but is the 6g72 wasted spark?
what other 3.0 turbo karman engines exist that use wasted spark?
i'm not sure if it's that easy but someone like dr. j or bishop pls go buy one and see if it will work

how do yall think e-manage blue compares to the map ecu? im ready to purchase one or the other, so just curious. im leaning toward the blue. also the emu will require a maf still correct? thanks.

i'd go eman over the MAP ECU.....as it does more.
yup, you'll still need an AFM w/the eman.....which isn't a huge deal since the lex AFM maxes out around 600 rwhp....
