mods:gt40, ebay manny, tial 44mm wg, 3''turbo back, stock injectors, walhbro 255, stock ecu, aem truboost ebc, aem wb.

@11.12lbs, boost controller set @12lbs, made 249.55hp and 245trq. its either the wastegate or ignition problems what i can think of, my power drops at 5krpm and is real jumpy on the way down. boost controller turned off made 230hp and 218 trq. with the boost controller turned up to 14lbs, it made 243hp. im running rich. im gonna try to post the sheet. also over 100 degrees.

i think its very low, lol. i think i got wastegate or ignition problems. turned boost controller off and the boost still goes up and down like when i got it on. im gonna pull off my wastegate and sparkies sunday. i dont think stock injectors will be able to handle 14lbs of boost from this turbo, something is wrong.

Check the coils themselves for cracks, especially under the rubber boots. If they're cracked, seal them up with some epoxy (or even nail polish).

Check the conenctors going to the coils. If they're cracked or broken at all (like missing their locking clips), replace all 6 (they're cheap). The 2JZ connectors have a much tighter fit then the 1JZ ones anyways.

yo, my turbo is a gt4088. still havent gotten around to changing the sparkies, pulling the wastegate, and maybe moving the wastegate line to the turbo. got to put a nipple on the turbo. the line is at the manny right now and not sure if it would affect boost. also gonna throw in my jdm 440 just in case this thing gets fixed, i dont want to grenade my motor.

do those connector really affect the performance? because all of the locks on my clips are broken and it seems to be running up to par..

my sparkies seemed good, changed them for ngk 6097 gapped .28 anyways. found a leak on my vband from turbo to downpipe. all coils cracked at screw mounts except for 1. tightened the vband down real good. gonna put epoxy on the coils. will update later. still gonna pull the wastegate. hopefully it was the vband though. later fellers.

Well, I cracked one of the connectors in half, and the car ran like SHIT despite it still being plugged in.. I replaced them all, and it ran 100% better. If it's running well, I wouldn't worry TOO much about it, but if you start having any sort of issues, replace them. It's a commonly overlooked thing. If you have a poor connection to the coils, you get a poor spark out of them.

I run the wastegate off my manifold too. It CAN cause creep issues, but not usually on such a big turbo (I run a 4088 too). Your boost pressure might actually be slightly HIGHER then running it off the turbo itself depending on how restrictive your intake piping is.
