i do not know, i went single off the bat. but the engine is great, healthy engine. just doesnt boost right.

i got the turbo from my friend, its never been used but sat for 2+years. i went ahead and ordered a new turbo. gonna be here this weekend. we will see.

Take off/unhook the wastegate line from the turbo, cap it off at both end and take it out for a spin. Put it in 3rd and make a pull. Keep your eyes on the boost gauge and make sure to let off the when boost gets to 20psi. Dont be affraid, she'll be fine. If your boost can get that high then it is not your turbo.

If boost can get to 20psi then your issue will be:

1. map sensor
2. cam sensor
3. timing is off
4. faulty coils
5. replace your cat with a test pipe

damn, i forgot about unhooking the wg. thats what happens when ur frustrated. i dont think my motor will last at 20psi. but the problem is holding the boost when it hits. it will hit whatever boost i set. the car runs too good to have something wrong with the map and cam sensors. timing is on point at 10 degrees, compression is 180 straight accross. got epoxy on my cracked coils, i guess it could still be bad maybe. i got my whole exhaust off now. im gonna run open dp when i install the new turbo. btw, what are the symptoms for a bad map, cam, coils? thanks a bunch.

Have you gone through all of you intercooler pipe connections to make sure they're clamped down good?

my piping is on good, no leaks. ive put 20psi compressed air through them.

my a/f is 12.2 at peak boost at 5000rpm then drops to 10.0 and stays when it pulses. my dyno graph is on the 1st page with psi, a/f, trq, and hp. looks funky.

what is the 1>1.5mm restrictor are u refering to? i would try that. have u had this problem before? why would the intake pulsate?

thanks everyone.

I come from a land down under
Manifold>Hose>restrictor>Map Sensor

Yes I use this to dampen out the boost signal it's just a piece of aluminium rod that fits inside the hose with a 1.5mm hole drilled in it.

I started doing this when I had my Wolf ECU as the Boost graph was jagged but the SW Boost gauge was steady.

i know this is old but, i had to get away from it for a while. heres an update. i installed the new turbo and it did the same thing. so yesterday, i pulled the line going to the wastegate off and ran it like that. the car feels so much better, it would boost up to 12psi and the wastegate would stay closed. my wg would use to open up at 4psi, 7psi, and no power. when i tried it with my wg line off, i slowly took it up. so the question now is do i get a new wg or figure out why its acting up? sorry to bring up something old.

Sounds to me like the diaphram in your wastegate is blown?

Remember how my graph was doing the same thing? I figured out mine was a combination of: not enough gain on my boost controller, and too weak a WG spring for the boost I was trying to run.

Another option is just a pre-turbo exhaust leak, or your wastegate not sealing.. but if you're possitive that your issue is solved when you remove the line to the WG then you might by alright by trying to fix it (although at this point, if I were you I'd just want to throw that damn thing into the ocean).

i think you had the EBC hooked up backwards.

but scotts right too. i had the same similar problems too when my gain wasn't set high enough for what i was trying to run.

good luck with it!

funny thing is that i was just running off the wg spring when i had problems. i do want to throw it in the ocean now, ha! its not a preturbo leak or wg leak. could be the diaphragm though. anyways thanks guys.
