just for the record, i know it is low and there is a problem if u looked at the dyno sheet. the boost goes up and down with or without the controller.

got some epoxy put on my coils, underneath wasnt cracked. gonna pull the wg in the morning.

i guess my wastegate off my manny isnt the problem since annoyingrob has it at the same place. when does ur turbo hit full boost. mine looked like 5k.

On the street, I hit full boost about 4600, on the dyno, about 5k. If you're having issues with fluctuating boost, it MIGHT be because of your manifold source. Just because I don't have problems doesn't mean you won't either. We have different wastegates after all :). Try it off the turbo (or coupler) and see if it steadies out.

i give up. pulled the wg off and it was fine no leaks. it was a bitch to put back on and together. thought one of the lines to it was pinched so i repositioned the nipple. no boost leaks, new spark plugs, epoxied the coils, tightened everything and checked everything over and over. dunno.
if someone has any ideas please point me in the right direction, or any direction. spending all this money to be slower than stock twins is bugging the shit out of me. WTF!!! DAMN SUPRAS!!

im going to work right now but, i got the china manny with the vband wg. got a tial 44mm. top nipple goes to #2 nipple on boost controller valve, side nipple goes to #1 nipple and is teed to the manifold. boost erratically with the ebc turned off, 12lbs,14lbs. tempted to remove the wg line all together, lol.

I'm sure it's a problem with your boost source. Try running it straight from the manifold, no Tee. If that doesn't fix it, try tapping the compressor housing, and running it off of that.

That still doesn't explain why the power output is low, although I agree with what's being said about the wastegate and pressure source.

i would tap the comp housing if i were you for the pressure source. So much better.

compression was 180 across. sparkies look good. bypassed the boost controller, have the wastegate straight to the manny. gonna tap the housing tomorrow, hopefully. didnt have time to do a boost leak test. gonna do that again tomorrow. thanks.

oh, ill post up the wastegate setup pics when i get off mdcmotorsports. got to go to work now. lates

wow... that's strange man, before i swapped my twins out i had it dyno'd and hit 260whp and 300lbs of torque boosting 12psi with even my stock exhaust.. and now with my single setup the power with 8psi feels just like the 12psi from the stock twins..

i have a few small leaks that ive found, i doubt they caused my low #s. i checked the line for my wastegate and it gets boost fine, opens up when its supposed to.

could i be having ecu problems with the injectors staying open at wot? or some sort of ignition problems? the boost reading and the power is just not on par with each other.

really, really stumped guys, any ideas please, ill try just about anything now.

i moved my wg line to the compressor housing, by passed my bov and ebc.

took my turbo, wg, manifold, downpipe of to make sure i dont have a leak.

gonna ''fix'' my brand new cat, maybe running rich for about 1k miles messed it up.

has anyone had or heard of a faulty brand new tial wg? could a bad turbo make my boost not hold?

oh, i ran part throttle the other nite and did a slow steady boost, my wg opened up at damn 4psi, or i thought maybe an exhaust leak. thats why i took everything off to find it. try another brand new wastegate? ive taken it apart before and the spring is definately not weak. everything seems ok, but since its off the car, ill check it over again. it does hit 11.2psi everytime, i think i got the 11.6psi spring in it. just as soon as it hits itll drop to 8psi, then up, then down. MOTHER(*&()&)!!!

How long have you been working on this? Don't just drop it because you're having a hard time. I'm sure everyone on this site has been in your shoes at one point or another. It will all be worth it in the end. You'll have a single turbo 1J in an mk3 supra. I bet you're also learning quite a bit in the process. Not many can say that. I've been working on mine for over a year and a half. I just got it started last night. I've had all sorts of issues and kept pressing on. Like I said man. It will all be worth it in the end so keep pressing on and don't give up. You'll figure it out. Just don't give up! :icon_bigg
