Do you want Energy Suspension Poly Bushings? READ HERE.

Someone posted about the rack bushings being very close to ones already made for Toyota trucks? I'd like to know more about that, and see if these guys have a set, and/or can confirm what works, of if there is a close set that can be modified/ground/machined or otherwise used on our cars.

Or I can spend the money, and buy the expensive ones out there... LOL

The TEMS Tokico struts work great, so do the B&G lowering springs I'm using, but I'd like more ride height.
There are a few ways to get this, and maintain the TEMS setup.
1) Get new springs, or have these set at a higher ride height.
2) Add in spacers between the spring, and either the lower or upper spring seats/perch.
** Many stores sell a split rubber ring, about 1" thick, with a grove that can be inserted between coils, and raise the rate, keeping the car higher. (Jack up the car, then slide the rubber ring in there, and let the car down.. Instant height raise.)
3) Revise the lower mounts on the A-arms, and rear control arms. (I'm actually leaning towards this.. Adding a stronger mount for both the rear strut, and rear sway bar in the process, and adding 1" ride height all the way around. Also if the rear ones are moved in slightly, it would improve clearance for running wider tires.. :) )

Thanks for the update on the control arm bushings. Any word on the "list" price, and then what places like Summit will sell them for at a discount?

Certainly a Great Start. I mentioned to Energy that I had also read somewhere the Energy Truck bushings were supposed to work and Energy said they tried all the ones they make and something about a notch on my particular rack wouldn’t work out. Maybe someone with experience with racks could shed some light on this. My 89 N/A may be different than other years. Now this is one thing I wondered about, why couldn't someone send Energy a set of rack bushings for a particular year and have them reproduce them, even the subframe bushings since I don't believe they would have the fit issue an A-Arm bushing would have. Yes I will ask them that when I pick up the car and see what they say. I'm just trying not to push for anything due to the fact they got us these so far. Maybe if they see a sales run on the A-Arm bushings they'll rethink and make the rest of the bushings.

I did find some sites showing poly rack bushings but they are at another sup site and I don't wanna violate any rules by posting the links.

pitty... as all those bushings are already made fairly cheap...

I want a complete kit damnit, so I can drop my subframes and do it all at once...

I'm with Poodles.. I would have wanted a complete set. Dropping the subframes isnt that big of a deal if you have a lift available. All this hype and there still isnt a complete set available for the Mk3 Supra. Sucks ass. :icon_evil

That would be nice.

I'll be buying the A-arm bushings, as I know the original rubber bushings are bad on my car. Hopefully someday down the road, we'll see them reconsider and make the rest of the bushings for our cars.

Randy's making the subframe bushings in poly already, IIRC.

I want poly control arm bushings, poly steering rack bushings, poly tranny/motor mounts, and poly subframe bushings. I think that would pretty much take care of any and all bushings I would want :)

Yeah, but not to the front subframe.

Anybody know is it hard to change the A-arm poly bushings? I might do this at the same time I'm going to switch to my coilovers.

Suprageezer, what were the symptoms of your (I assume) worn upper and lower control arm bushings?

Were they creaky on bumps or braking?

I dont seem to have alot of slop (aligns good and no obvious play when I jack up the wheel and muscle it around) but it just started creaking like an MF recently.

Anybody had this prob?

Randy's are spacers, basicly taking the "bushing" out of the equation...

I guess I'll bite the bullet and order all of Ronnie's...

Hmm...they decided to do nothing more than A-arm bushings when Superpro's and RK bushings have them covered.
I thought the point of all this was to get some extra bushings that aren't offered yet, as well as a full set.
Why isn't this happening?

I changed my upper bushings to poly a while back, its pretty straight forward, I just burned the old bushing out with a torch, then pressed in the new ones. The hard part with the rear is that you have to pull out the axle shafts to get to the ball joint nut.

Suprabad, actually there was nothing wrong with my bushings at all. I simply volunteered my car since I was close to Energy and had another vehicle to use for work. My 192K suspension as far as I could tell from DD it worked flawlessly, including the TEMS. I've had two sets of tires on the car since I bought it and never had to rotate either set during the entire lifetime of the tires, all four wore perfectly even till it was time for a new set, which is now for set number three.

Yes I know some folks feel let down the set isn't complete, at least I and many other's see things as the glass is now half FULL. Also from my experience a set of Energy bushings is typically far cheaper than the current available sets. As I mentioned up there, maybe after x amount of sets are sold they will see a market developing and move ahead with a bigger set.

The other note I mentioned is could they produce the sub frame, and rack bushings from and new stock example? Those are two questions I will ask them when I go to pick up the car, which is now delayed until sometime next week due to somebody wanting to do a photo shoot of the car.

I'd still like to get a complete set from one place and not order them all over the world.. Oh well..

He does make a full set. It's just more than what most MKIII owners are willing to spend.
