PS: I'm sorry people treated you harshly, however when undergoing a project such as yours, you need to anticipate critisism of the negative kind.
Sorry to see you leave.
exactly. jeff stated it perfectly, noxide. personally, your car doesnt tickle my fancy, but i totally, 100% admire your craftsmanship. it's top notch. who cares if others dont like your car! if someone tells me my car is old, rusty, and a piece of shit, i dont care, because i love it, and it's mine.
(in all honesty, most of the members here would probably give me shit too because my front fenders, and doors are rusty as hell, my mudflaps are about to fall off, and my front bumper is FUBR, dented, scraped up, etc...)
do i care? no, not at all. i'm not one to "turn the other cheek" in many situations, but if i were in yours, that's what i'd do. good for them, they've made fun of your car at your expense. do THEY have the skills and knowledge that you do? can they fabricate the pieces you have, and do it as well as you can? these are the things you have to ask yourself. for example, look at lamarossa! he gets flamed all the time, but he doesnt give a rat's ass.
that's the attitude you gotta have if you want to stand out. its sad, yes, but incredibly true. i'm sorry to see you go, as i was following your progress.
and, in conclusion, if people lash out at you, it's best not to spit it right back at them, because that just creates a flame-fest. i'm sorry that you werent "accepted" by the majority of the SM population, but when undergoing such a severe conversion as yours, you MUST be open to criticism, even if it's NOT constructive. just brush it off, man. you'll be fine. i'm sorry you chose to leave. you're always welcome to return, of course. however, if you choose not to, good luck in your future endeavors.
