I run electric fans.. no not the lame-o dual 12 incher barely blow a leaf anywhere slim line crap. The dual 13 inch sucker is what i use. Plenty of room between the frame

E-fans are FINE, as long as you don't skimp out on them. They'll cool better in stop and go traffic because it's not RPM dependant.
If NOT wired properly, and not sized right or using crappy fans, they're just gonna leave you stranded...

yeah, you will know if it has a serious problem, but other than that its far from being realiable. my aftermarket gauge can swing 40 degrees before the stock one thinks about moving.
