Well Jon, you had me pretty talked into it. I was going to find a way to be in Chicago one way or another, but when I looked up the dates I found out have a serious problem: I leave for Orlando on the 9th with the family. One day early - damn! I was hoping it would've been a couple of weeks later, but it just means that next year everything will be just like I want it - new paint, more mods, and hopefully things just working all at the same time for once.

Ok guys, its that time! Need to know who is 100% for sure going and who is staying where.

Also, we need to start getting together car pool situations and find out where every one is meeting up.

I will definitely be there with or without my Supra.

It is all up to my mechanics finishing it on time. The goal for completion is August 1st, giving me around 6-8 days to try and break the beast in, tune it, make sure everything is running good, etc.

I took the 4 days off from work so I will definitely be there... even if I have to drive my loaned (grandmother's car) 2001 Malibu (light brown old person's paint + handicap plates  ).

I cant make a weekend, but i'll show at Byron, hopefully ready to race. The 12th is a big bucks bracket bash(busy), but they are not running pro and street till Sunday, so we may be able to run. Do we have any arrangements with the track?

We figure most will want to come in during the day so the cruise will be arranged for early afternoon to evening and I'll prepare a nice list of hotspots for dinner, clubs, etc..
Our usualy Thursday nights here consist of a local cruise and a pretty large car gathering in about 10 different locations, so there is something for everyone You can either hit up a great restaurant, car show, club, or the bed!

Gates open at 12:30pm and racing starts at 1pm and will be private until 5pm when it opens up to normal public Test and Tune. The track day will be a private event and I am extending the invitation to a few other car groups. so be prepared to see some exotics racing There are a few potential big surprises as well to come, some attendees/cars racing

Well......a HUGE disappointment. I didn't know that we had to pre-pay. I had a huge dispute with Paypal a couple years ago that almost ended up turning into a lawsuit and a bunch of nasty stuff, so I cannot use Paypal. I was planning on running at the track AND dynoing.

Probably 75% of the reason why I even wanted to go. :icon_conf

jeff-

you dont have to prepay to race from 5pm on, and not sure you even have to prepay for the private session.

the reason most require prepay for the dyno is they have to front the money to rent a time slot on the dyno. if you have 20 people say they are gonna dyno and you rent a 5hr slot then only 3 people dyno, you are out a lot of money.

Well...I understand the reasons for prepaying...

I just don't know if I should at least notify that I will be running/dynoing or just show up and hope for the best. :nono:
