^ Whatever I can scam off of priceline for $50-60/night in the schaumburgh area.

Down to under a month, I wonder how many people are going to be backing out in the near future...? My guess is about half.

Hell, last year how many people were supposed to meet us in Indy, Jon? IIRC it was like 5-6, and we only had 1 person meet us? Or am I high? Same thing in Champagne/Urbana... add 2 more cars and add another 4-5 hours. ugh... I still can't believe, actually yeah i can, that there isn't a mkII anything. It's no wonder none of them try to make it out.

I'm sorry, but that still pisses me off. Whether it be their fault for not showing up, or the organizers for not including them, it's still a pretty crappy set up.

I'm just in an all around half-way crappy mood today, my appologies. And my builder STILL doesn't have my engine ready. "next week, definitely" prick...

Are the dyno pulls just to see your rwhp figures or are they also going to tune the car?

I would think they are just doing it for figures because tuning takes a lot of time per car.

I plan on having my engine initially broken in before the Chi2k6 meet at Sound Performance and then dyno tuned so I will probably just come to watch other cars get dynoed. There is not much of a point in paying for a car to get dynoed 2 seperate occasions in less than 2 weeks without changing any aspects of the car. (unless I can get enough miles on this moter before the event and get my synthetic oil in it rather than the standard stuff)

Unless I am missing something about the dyno session... then please fill me in.

Heeey, are you referring to that intersection/area that has buildings going up like every week? LOL, It's just a few minutes away from my house. :naughty:

BTW: If you are coming from the SOUTH on I-65, you will come to a "GREENWOOD" exit...KEEP GOING. You will come up to "COUNTY LINE RD exit" and that is where you will get off, and turn left on the ramp, and you will come up to the intersection of which Kroger will be across the street to the right.

Yeah I'm 1 of those 6 people and I feel like I'm getting the shaft because people that don't even have a supra can't make up there mind...I thought it was just supra owners that had this problem.

Should be able to.

Bad ass. I just finished the break in on the 87T....time to turn her up and set her loose at the strip. Hopefully I can get it to hook at the strip...I sold my drag radials to a Cressida dude a while back. :icon_evil

In the past I always borrowed a friend's helmet. He sold it a few months back....Anybody got a helmet I can borrow/buy relatively cheap?

I'm so damn excited, I have been waiting all year for this meet.

EDIT: WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

you will def be able to race. worst case youd have to wait for open test and tune at 5pm.

what kind of helmet are you looking for?

ride_now on ebay has snell M helmets for $65. they ship quick too.

if you need a snell SA helmet there are a couple other places that have them for under $200

Heeey, to go along with needing a helmet, can anyone verify if it required to wear pants when you run at the track? I've been to some places that don't require it, and some do. It will most likely be hot that day, so I'll be striving to stay as cool as possible. ;)

Yes, you need pants and a sleeved shirt at GLD.

I think M is all GLD requires...I will check out that guy on ebay, otherwise my friend's dad might sell me his, he used to race scca MG midgets and just has all his stuff lying around.

I should spook every one out and put on my 4 second rated drag suit, helmet, arm restraints, and fire proof undies.

People would be like WTF! That things gotta run 8's!

Then they would all laugh when I bust a 15.9 lol!

:runaway:

i left you a voicemail. give me a call when you get a chance.

and yes GLD does require pants and shoes. but can get away with short sleeve shirts. and yes GLD you can just use a M rated helmet.
as far as borrowing one, be sure it fits your head correctly or it wont do any good.

Gonna be a lot of disapointed people that dont break out of the 13's if they're looking for helmets....

It's gonna end up raining that weekend and no one is going to show up... especially mkII crowd. I'm waiting until a little closer before I decide whether or not to buy my new tires do my rear camber mod, drop $100+ for hotel, drive up there pay the gas, waste 2 days of my days off from school.

Don't get me wrong, I want to go... but I don't want to waste my time/money that I don't have.

MDC last year I strapped on drag radials and wore a helmet for a 15.3 pass. I blew a lower IC pipe coupler in 2nd gear, lol. 1.87 60'. 19psi in first....3psi after that. I felt like a moron.

I didn't have nomex undies or a helmet support though...that shit's just straight up gangsta.

dbsupra90 yeah that's what I meant by sleeved shirt....it just can't be a tank top or muscle T or anything.

mkiiSupraMan18, I'm sure there will be a lot of dissappointed folks running 13's and 14's...or in mdc's case, "15.9" :biglaugh:

....but you know damn well they're still going to have a blast doing it. I'm sure lots of people wont even race, like last year. *cough mk4 guys*

I'm just saying... how many people are seriously going to need a helmet?

I've just been in a crappy mood for the past week or so, so I'm just taking it out on the mkIII guys because I'm still pissed that my bastard engine builder STILL doesn't have my engine done. Going to pick it up 2morrow and I'll just screw it up myself I guess. GRRRRRR :icon_mad:

Not to mention it's 150' outside and I got a ton of stuff to do outside before the hogroast this Saturday... if anyone wants to come... yeah

I got a L and an XL plain black full face helmet it someone feels that they need it for whatever reason... Just to save you $65-100

I'd be happy just to see people show up, you don't have to race or dyno, or do the show/shine... I mean, let's face it, attendance last year was pretty weak, and with the "extended forcast" of rain, I don't have my hopes set very high at all. Again, me being a negative nancy, but I'm just saying... atleast this year people have half an exscuse not to come... :icon_conf

lol, a lot of guys are going to think their car is faster than a 13.99 due to the butt dyno effect...but hey, nothing wrong with having a helmet on, it's there for safety. I wore a helmet on my civic's 14.2 pass, and I wasn't required to.

Hopefully your engine guy will straighten up and have your stuff done...I know I got stressed out waiting for my shit to get machined.

I hear you about the heat. I have a ton of welding to do this week, but if it's 90 degrees out I don't have much ambition to play with 6000 degree metal.
