Im glad to have you guys on here as my shoulder to lean on and glad to know you guys care so much! Im trying to keep you guys updated on how everything is going, so speaking of that. I may have to have surgery sooner than expected, the central line they gave me is in my neck and every time i turn my head to the right it tightens. So they are going to have to go back in and lengthen the line a little. That sucks, but aleast it will relieve the pain in my neck (literally)!

Well guys the surgeon says he had a hard time running the line, it was supposed to run beneath my collar bone. But there is so much scar tissue there, from the previous line, that he had to run it over the top. He thinks it may be just swelling and bruising from his attempts to run the line a different way, boy do I hope he is right!

I also had to call and quit my job. But that is no biggie because I was going to do that in a few weeks any way, just makes my budget alot tighter. Incase you guys didnt know the Supra is my DD and needs little stuff to get it close to reliable. I think I will be able to swap the driveshaft U-joint from a parts car my father has and Ill have to hold off on fixing the suspension until I can get some form of income. But I dont race it constantly so the blown struts arent that bad, just rides like a Cadillac :biglaugh: .

It also isnt looking good for college. I wont be able to start with all my friends this fall, and I may be losing some of my scholarships  . But again Im not dead so I have alot to be greatful for! The doctor said that if I had waited a few more days before we found out, I probably would have had a stroke :aigo: so God is truely looking out for me!
Thanks Guys,
Josh M

Glad to see you keeping your spirits up Josh. I think that is one of the most important thing right now. You have to have a will to want to live. If your depressed easily, and not a fighter, then there's no way you would have made it this far. We can all tell you're a fighter and WILL beat this cancer for good.
How is the bone marrow donor coming? I don't know how that works. Is it possible that cousing, aunts, or uncles would match yours? If that is a stupid question I apologize. I have prayed for you daily and will continue. Keep up the good spirits, and stay strong............lol

Josh, are you getting your treatments thru a Portacath or a PICC line?

I work in Interventional Radiology and we do these routinely for patients much like you. I figure you have a port as you mentioned it being tunnelled by your collar bone. For what its worth, we never tunnel under the collar bone (always over), and we have had patients have them in for years, trouble free, as long as they are taken care of and flushed regularly of course.

Your demeanor is truely admirable, and one you dont often see in chemo patients. The mind is a powerful tool, and it looks to me as if you got what it takes to beat it again.

Best wishes, and take care. Keep us in the loop on how youre doing.

ND: Thanks for the compliments and I appreciate you taking the time to let me know that you think that highly of me! And I want you to know that by taking the time to write these encouraging words I also think more highly of you, and all you guys who help me daily!

Jay: Unfortunatly I still have no donor but many of my friends and family are getting tested so hopefully I will find one that way. And you are dead on about the relative matches. Relatives actually are better donors but they dont neccesarily match any more often than strangers, so the odds of finding a donor are the same either way.

Slow66: I actually dont have either, I have what they call a Hickman/centeral veinous catheter. It is much like a Portacath but has the lower portion protruding from my chest and has ends much a PICC. Hopefully I explained that correctly, if not Im sure you understand what Im getting at.

Thanks for all the compliments and care guys(and gals, sorry Meggs!),

This is truly a thread to be proud of. This is the type of behavior that reinforces my opinion that I want to live here.

Keep your chin up, I'll crank the healing vibe machine's antenna around to point your direction.

I also agree with ND.

And Boost, I think that's an xcellent idea!!

Unfortunately I have no car stuff here, but just let me know and I'd be more than willing to put in some money.

I'm sorry to hear about your job and school, but you're right that starting late really shouldn't be too big of an issue. Hopefully you don't lose out on too many of the scholarships because that would be unfortunate, but you've got the right mindset when you said at least your alive. Just fight this off and everything will work itself out somehow, it always manages to.

I think you've said this, but I'm not really sure I completely understand how it's all working- are you at the hospial full time now, or do you get to leave and come back for treatment?

Grim and Boost I appreciate the kind words. You guys are the reason that everyone considers SM to be a family and not a forum. I really appreciate the generous gestures. Thanks Guys!

And Meggs: As you said work and school are not as important as life, so you just have to put things in order of importances. But as for your other question, yes I am in the hospital full time and dont even get to go outside as of now. It tends to get boring but my friends have been very kind to me and given some of there time to help me pass mine. If it were not for them and you guys and gals this would be alot worse, so thanks for the support everyone!

Josh,

We do Hickmans too :) Also Leonards which are slightly different....

Its just less popular at our hospital as a way of deliverign chemo. Most often for us is a port. Either way, im suprised they woudl still tunnel under the clavicle as it is much more vascular there, and not to mentio healign time........anyways....Good luck again, and keep us i nthe loop. As you know we're all rootin for ya.

Exander: thanks for the kind words they may seem insignificant to you but they mean alot to me!

Slow66: the first time that I had cancer I had both, they gave me a Portacath but later found out I was Philidelphia Chromosome positive. So I later had a Hickman inserted. And they connected them to the subclaivian veins. But this time it was inserted into the juggular vein.

Joshua: my name is also Joshua but I have chosen to shorten it for ease of writing, typing, and signing!

Josh,

Hang in there man. You have a very large extended family here. My heart and prayers are with you. I am in Nashville, have your father or yourself call me @ 615-352-0515. I will have the struts put on your car at my shop free of charge. If you don't mind Monroe struts I'll supply them. I am the service manager for NTB on Charlotte Pike.

God Bless,
