Looking good. Again, let me know how those heat shields hold up under high temp, im thinking of having my powdercoated. Talked to Jerry today and mine should be ready for pickup tomorrow.

So we didn't finish tonight :( I feel like I have failed, but for some reason I was way out of it.

Tomorrow we finish up and then my dad kills me for the pool.

hah, tonight sucked major dick for the project...

we were inefficient and things just werent going well. we had some troubles with the neighbors that set us back an hour and just not working hard kicked our asses. im sure by tomorrow night she'll be firing for sure! that way we can check to see how well our gasket/seal job actually went!

So yeah I thought tonight was going quite well until the "audience" showed up.. Then I was kinda of a dick and fell asleep in a huge box of packing peanuts and the back seat of my Supra. Sorry Tyler.

I'm happy it fired up tonight :D. I'll let you fill in the rest of Supramania! ha ha

I'm Tyler.

the supra runs. she has a VERY LOUD vacuum leak on the intake side back by the fuel pulsation dampener. it has a sqeaky belt and the power steering setup is leaking. there is NO OIL leaks anymore from what i have seen.

tomorrow i will have it completely put back together including the interior and engine bay and the other little pieces but all in all it wasnt that bad.

would i do it again? F*CK NO!

the 7m-gte is SO much harder then the 5m/6m. RAWR! sorry, im doing a little venting. i had no food/drink for like 9 hours tonight and i was shaking at one point when putting the clutch slave back in. it wasnt too bad. it can be done with MUCH PATIENCE!

oh yeah, the gasket kit i baught off ebay was trash. im calling the pricks tomorrow and demanding my money back. we had to make several gaskets. absolutly garbage for gaskets. anyways...

----------------

oh yeah: i shot a fireball out of my muffler on the first start up!

i painted my exhaust manifold too.
burned off in three minutes. hehe.
everything else is alright.
but watch that exhaust manifold when you start it up, it'll burn off quite quickly.

they ordered my cometic HG, wiseco pistons, some misc gaskets, rods/mains, and some more misc shit, but he bored it 40 over, did a valve job( the head was $500) blue printed and balanced it, polished the crank and a bunch of other stuff, i'll have all the details in my build. My invoice was like 9 pages long.

Ha ha yeah 9 page invoices... I had all the same stuff done minus pistons and rods, I bought those at wholesale from a friend. So my bill from Harvey's with the little shit and performance stuff was ~$2600. Add the pistons and rods in and it was ~$3,650.

Bored 40 over, so now you are a true 3 liter. ha ha

leon's 2jz is going in his mk2.

anyways, the motor is back in and it runs. the paint was burning off of the manifold. so far the heat shields are good. ive got a pretty bad vaccuum leak on the intake side of things that i have to diagnose yet. otherwise i think we are doing pretty good.

oh, i was driving it home from Lee_MA61's and it started to get a pretty good vibration in the steering wheel up around 50 mph. i kept her at 45 on cruise and it was ok. i need to put my interior back together today and try to find that vaccuum leak. its dropping the idle really low so it tries to kill itself.

ill have more later!

so i was driving it again today. im having idle issues with the vacuum leak. it is screaming loud. i couldnt exactly fit my hand on the hose that was doing it. ill get some soapy water tomorrow to try to locate it and eliminate it. hopefully its not just some pin-prick sized hole. im almost positive that it between the firewall and the upper intake manifold.

i got my interior back together and took all of the parts/tools out of the supra. dvd player is working and i cant wait to watch the fast and the furious on my next decently sized trip.

next issue: the car has some vibration at higher cruising speeds. i dont have full Power Steering at this point because it is leaking so maybe its half trying to use it and half not? ive read about the driveshaft sometimes causing this? anyone have any ideas. it gets kinda jerky in the steering wheel. the car shakes alittle bit too. i dunno.

.....

As for the vacuum leak we need to buy a Felpro kit for the intake plenum. Then we can get all the correct parts. Unlike that other gasket kit you bought were we made almost 90 percent of the gasekets/seals. IMHO.

alright, so i think we narrowed down the vibration at higher speeds to my front left tire being shitty. its got some bubbles. i need to replace that soon.

still working on the vacuum leak.

my temp guage isnt working right now. i think the clip broke when we pulled it out. so i just ran some wire to the connector on the water temp sensor and still dont have any readings in the cockpit. hmm?

anyone know how hard it is to install a mkiv fuel pump in the mk3? i read about it once i think and its pretty much direct?
